Five Great Movies Scenes involving Eating Spaghetti

With the coming of National Spaghetti day it’s important to note some of the most infamous and lovable spaghetti eating scenes in movies that have ever been. Of course not all of them are as positive as you might like but a lot of them that were available were in fact kind of cute and endearing. Spaghetti is something that’s widely debated when it comes to its origins though many would agree that it was invented by the Italians even though some might argue that the idea was brought over from somewhere in Asia. No matter where it’s from however the point is that it’s one of the most sought after dishes in the world and when made right can be either fine cuisine or comfort food that warms the soul and keeps the body well fed and cared for.

With meatballs or any other worthy add-on it can be even better.

5. Eat Pray Love

Elizabeth thought she had everything she needed, but upon her divorce she finds that stepping outside of her comfort zone is what she needed the most. As she travels from one country to another, enjoying the local foods and taking her time to fully immerse herself in each culture, she finds that her soul needed much more than what society was telling her was normal.

4. Se7en

It’s not the greatest example but the first noted death in this movie comes when a man that is so large that he likely couldn’t get through his doorway is found face down in a puddle of spaghetti noodles and marinara sauce. IT’s a rather gross and unsettling scene but in the spirit of the day it gets a mention at least. It’d be a bad way to go for anyone, but especially a person that couldn’t defend themselves.

3. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

A spaghetti twister would surely be a sight, but if it were going fast enough you’d think it might be more dangerous than an actual twister. Think about it, you don’t just have high velocity winds to contend with, you also have whipping noodles and flying debris to worry about with this thing. Maybe he could invent a giant fork to stick down into the the eye of the storm to swirl it up.

2. Elf

I’ve seen someone try this and nearly throw up in the process. The thing is that the noodles on their own are very bland and don’t add anything to the taste. The other part is that once cooked they really don’t soak up any flavor from the sugar. Basically what you’re doing is tossing one sugary product on top of another and tempting fate when it comes to flirting with a diabetic coma.

1. Lady and the Tramp

This is the classic and quintessential spaghetti scene from any movie ever made. Despite the fact that it’s not the first such scene in film it’s the best since so many people have emulated this scene that it’s hard to keep track of them all. Disney might not have known just how iconic this scene was when they filmed it.

Happy Spaghetti Day, mangia.
