The Five Funniest Movie Scenes Starring Woody Harrelson

If you think that Woody Harrelson doesn’t excel in funny scenes in his many movies then you obviously didn’t watch him in Cheers. He’s come a long way from being someone who was considered to be a simple-minded goof to where he is now. The roles he’s played since that show have made him one of the more popular entertainers in Hollywood and have elevated him to the status of a man that might not be lead material all the time but is fully capable of holding his own with the best in the business and taking the reins when he needs to. In fact I think it would be fair to say that he’s a lot funnier in many ways than people think. He’s good at drama but at comedy he gets to be goofy and all around fun.

Even when he’s being dramatic in a comedy he’s funny.

5. Now You See Me 2

While it didn’t attain the same success as the first film this sequel did offer a bit more development of the characters and their relationship to their mentor. Unfortunately the female lead in this film didn’t return but she was replaced by someone that was slightly more comical and could seemingly keep pace with the men a lot easier. For his own part Harrelson was more like the wizened elder that had the experience if not the same level of skill.

4. Zombieland

Tallahassee is just mean, tough, and desperately in need of a Twinkie. I don’t know if that’s what would be the first thing on my mind in the midst of the zombie apocalypse but then each person thinks differently when things go south. The fact that he was so willing to pursue a quest for the creme-filled delight speaks to his willingness to see things through.

3. Kingpin

Roy Munson isn’t the ideal human being but he does know how to hustle and as the movie progresses he at least learns how to once again act like a human being. He’s got a long way to go obviously but at least one thing is clear, he knows how to pay someone back for doing him a huge favor. He did get the girl after all and also got paid for his efforts, so paying things back, or forward perhaps, is a nice message to an otherwise raunchy movie.

2. Anger Management

It’s funny how he has such a small part in this movie and yet it’s so memorable. Galaxia is perhaps one of the most disturbing roles I’ve ever seen him in but it was something that kind of made the movie and pushed it along just enough to keep things interesting. Running into him again during his straight job was just another nice little bit of comedy to put into the film.

1. White Men Can’t Jump

You had to know that this one was going to make the list. Alongside Wesley Snipes this was one of the greatest basketball comedies ever made. Harrelson isn’t quite the chump he’s made out to be but he’s also not the brightest bulb in the box. But he can definitely play a good game.

He’s funny, just wrap your head around that fact.
