You might not know Ruth Connell all that well largely because she’s far more famous in her country of origin. But she’s been gaining in popularity since stretching her wings and has managed to pick up a few jobs here and there in the industry as she’s made her way across the pond. To date though she’s a very talented individual and has quite the impressive resume that has allowed her to continue a career that began budding when she was still very young. The kind of determination it’s taken her to come this far has been impressive and has seen her rise in fame and notoriety as the years have gone by.

She’s plenty famous no matter where she goes now.

5. She had a lead role in a performance of the Nutcracker when she was younger.

Ruth played the role of Clara in The Nutcracker when she was still a young girl and was praised for her acting as well as her poise. As many who have seen the production in one form or another know, The Nutcracker is a rather intricate story that doesn’t allow for a lot of mistakes if one wishes to be renowned for their part. Thankfully Ruth has taken her ascent very seriously though she’s still had fun with it.

4. Ruth grew up on a farm.

She grew up on the family farm out near Bonnybridge in Scotland, which in your mind at this point might mean a slew of animals and open countryside for miles around. It might well have been, and she could have enjoyed herself there, but Ruth obviously had loftier plans for her life and decided to see them through. There’s nothing wrong with coming from a farm background, in fact it’s pretty cool really since there might always be something to go back to.

3. She had a role in a version of Peter Pan.

She played the roles of Mrs. Darling and Captain Hook in the production, Peter Pan: The Boy Who Hated Mothers, and was part of the cast for a while. The show was given much acclaim and was said to be quite interesting and well done. It’s a different spin on the whole Peter Pan story, but perhaps it lines up with the idea of the Robin Williams version, Hook, in which Peter’s parents forgot about him.

2. She plays the role of Rowena in Supernatural.

So it’s obvious that she’s not famous just in her native country but also in the US as well since Supernatural was one of the favorite shows of many. Anyone that played a significant part in such a show would have been well known by the fans and possibly had their own fan base going at some point.

1. In an episode of Sofia the First she voiced the character of Merida.

Sofia has been known to receive help from every Disney princess at one point, and Merida was even seen to come to her before. Ruth has actually been designated as a match for the original voice that was used for Merida in the film Brave.

So you see, she’s more well known than you might have thought.
