Five Awesome “Convenience Store” Scenes in Movies

There’s so much that can happen at a convenience store, especially in the movies. It’s like a hub for human interaction and what’s more, it’s the one place that you know something will eventualy pop off. It doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad, stuff goes down in convenience stores simply because it seems to be where people are at their very best and their very worst more often than not. Why that’s the case is hard to explain, but people don’t seem to act the same way in a supermarket.

Odd isn’t it?

5. Open Season

This is one good reason why you don’t give a grizzly bear chocolate. Well, another good reason would be that it’s not good for them but a bear on a sugar buzz seems like an especially bad idea given that they’re big enough to do some serious damage. Boog and Elliott are two of the most unlikely animals to ever get together for mayhem of any kind but when they do it’s sugar-induce ride to insanity.

4. Spun

Spun is about one of the nastiest movies ever made when it comes to displaying a massive meth addiction, but at least this scene gets it right. Even drug dealers and meth cooks seem to have a sense of morality when it comes to guys beating up on women. It’s just not done and if it gets done then you risk someone lighting you up, even if they’re holding a six pack that they intend to purchase.

3. Loaded Weapon 1

This is one of the greatest spoofs of all time and it’s been effectively buried in the stacks of films that have come out since. At one point and time Emilio Estevez was one of the most popular actors around, and then he just kind of disappeared. This movie wasn’t meant to be anything but spoof and it pulled it off so great that you’d be hard pressed to find anything other than the Naked Gun and Police Academy movies to top it.

2. Fast Times at Ridgemont High

This would certainly be one way to gain respect from anybody since most cashiers in this day and age would likely give up the money without much of a fight. It seems that this is what they’re trained to do anymore since taking a bullet for a store that’s insured isn’t the smartest thing to do. Some people still fight back, but honestly a lot of stores cash out now before shift change.

1. Encino Man

This was one of the hottest movies to come out in a long time and it kind of made Pauley Shore back in his day. It allowed the world to get to know Brendan Fraser as well, since Sean Astin was already a known man in the acting circuit. Watching Stony explaining to Link the ‘food groups’ in his own personal way was pretty funny, but wheezing the juice was the best part. You can just imagine the amount of brain freeze you’d get doing this.

Keep on cruisin’.
