A fan of Costco Kirkland brand beer managed to come up with some funny homemade commercials and they seem to get funnier the longer they go. To be quite honest Kirkland isn’t the worst beer in the world but it’s pretty far from being the best. It’s the kind of beer you buy in bulk when you don’t have a lot of money and want something to get drunk with. But these commercials are something that might happen with someone that just wants to do something funny and think that it might take off with viewers. Who knows though? They’re a pretty amusing bunch and you can tell from the way the guy is slurring and acting later on that he’s had a few. Light beers or no, the alcohol does tend to get to you after a while.
Busting through the boxes like the stripped-down, redneck cousin of the Kool-Aid man, sorry couldn’t resist that one, is pretty hilarious when you really think about it. The things he says are even funny since half the time it doesn’t seem like he even knows what he’s saying. Plus the empty boxes are hopefully something that he and his friends managed to acquire from a local store’s recycling bin, though it’s kind of believable that they might have kept them for this express purpose. After all it’s easy to think that the beer was removed and is chilling out in a cooler somewhere, though a few of them might have made their way into the bellies of the people making the commercial. Somehow though it doesn’t seem too likely that Kirkland or Costco would ever pick this up, which makes it even funnier.
This is the kind of thing that you would do with your buddies when there’s really nothing else to do. That’s what makes it so great because anyone with a video camera and an idea can envision themselves doing this. How it would turn out is anyone’s guess really. The only thought would be how each shot is going to go and of course, what you’d be doing with the footage later on. If this was a serious attempt at making a commercial for Kirkland beer then it might need a little editing before sending it in, or a complete re-shoot. Funny as it is the thing is kind of juvenile in some cases, but in a great way. This is the kind of video you’d make on a summer day when there’s absolutely nothing else to do and you just wanted to do something amusing with your friends while sharing a few cold ones. Because honestly who doesn’t get some of their best ideas when you have a few brews in you making those decisions? Sometimes the liquid courage that’s also a great idea maker is the most sound thing in the world to get your creative juices flowing, so long as it’s in a place where you can do the least amount of harm.
Doing this anywhere else might be a problem though.
