I mentioned this a few days ago but Fargo is a show that has done an excellent job of completely separating itself from the film. I’m not referring to the fact that it’s got a similar setting or a few character names that match up, but that is a completely independent extension of the film. Noah Hawley has so far brought us two great seasons of Fargo thus far, and given Ewan McGregor’s new dual role, the third is one of the most anticipated TV shows of the year.
Now that the full trailer is out we get to see Ewan playing two men, brothers. There’s only one complaint of mine with regard to Ewan. Does anyone else think he struggles doing an American accent? I feel like a whole bunch of his words stretch too far like he’s trying too much. I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I watched the movie Robots yesterday and his accent in that movie was off the charts bad. I don’t know. I just don’t think he’s picked up our dialect after all these years.
Anyway, I don’t want to poo poo the show. The trailer looks dark, comedic, dark, and awesome. Have a look at it below:
