Everything We Are Hearing about Schitt’s Creek Season 6 So Far

Schitt's Creek

Nina Starner of Looper comes out with the most important part of season 6 of Schitt’s Creek eventually and as you might have guessed with such a buildup this means that the show is going to be ending once the final episode has been aired an the credits begin to roll for one more time. This might make a lot of the fans that have come to enjoy this show a bit sad since this program had to really earn its fans throughout the years, but at the very least the show isn’t being cancelled, but was scheduled to end around this point. The Levy’s, Dan and Eugene, apparently had plans to bring about the end of the show at this point the whole time, so thinking that it’s not being well-received has nothing to do with the termination of the show, it was just something that was meant to be and would have happened eventually anyway. This doesn’t lessen the sting obviously but it should manage to allay any suspicions that the show wasn’t getting the ratings that people believed. In fact the ratings have been doing just fine reportedly since it might have taken a while to really get noticed, but Schitt’s Creek eventually started gaining traction with people and after a while it finally became a show that people couldn’t wait to watch.

As far as season 6 goes when it comes to plot details as Andy Swift from TVLine goes into that indicates that there’s nothing concrete that’s been revealed as of yet, and there isn’t even a trailer as of yet, but one can expect that it might be soon enough in coming given that word is already going around about this being the last season. Given that it took so long to really get popular there are a lot of people that might already be willing to move on and find another favorite show, but a lot of people might be waiting in anticipation of what’s to come. It’d be nice to have something to tell everyone at this point, but apart from instructing people to go back and binge-watch seasons 1 through 5 there’s a not a lot that can be given.

There are a few story lines that need to be ironed out and finished obviously, but for the most part it would seem that season 6 is going to be a time for the Rose family to finally settle their affairs and settle into the town completely or perhaps add another wrinkle that needs to be sorted out. Whatever comes fans can assume that the show is going to give them the kind of comedy and drama that they’ve come to rely on and will no doubt seek to end things on a high note, or at least one that seems to be pleasing to the people. Given how the show was hard to even hear about at first it does seem that it came along and matured nicely over six seasons so giving it a rousing sendoff would be one of the best ways to see it go, and watching the first five seasons would be a great way for audience members to really bone up on whatever they’ve missed and possibly won’t understand. Amanda Prahl of PopSugar has a little more on this matter that you might want to take a look at.

Another fact we know about the upcoming season is that the main characters will be back, so no one will be fading off. One thing that absolutely kills interest in shows at times is the sudden omission or unwanted absence of those that were a part of the show from the beginning and didn’t see it through to the end or somehow bailed on the show. Fuller House did this if you remember as they moved forward without two very key characters, an absence that was noted despite the fact that nothing could really be done about it. With this show however the key characters will all be coming back and we’ll get to see a conclusion to the story that took a while to build but has been nothing short of great for the past several seasons. That’s a big part of what can be appreciated about certain shows, they do manage to cater to their fans or at least make it look this way. The Levy’s have been tearing it up with Schitt’s Creek thanks to a stellar cast and a great deal of respect that’s been levied to the fans when it comes to recognizing that without them this whole process would be kind of pointless.

That seems to be a big thing that’s lacking in show business at some levels these days, humility. When the fans decide to like something it’s right to be grateful, and it’s wise to pay attention to what they want to see versus what a storyteller wants to tell. Schitt’s Creek has gotten it right so far, and season 6 will likely be another nod to the fans in some way.
