Some people adore David Hasselhoff and have fond memories of watching his toned physique moving across the beach in slow motion on ‘Baywatch’. Other people find this celebrity annoying and would love nothing better than to see him killed off. If you fall into the former group, you will be delighted to hear that Hasselhoff is starring in a new movie. If you are in the latter group, you will be pleased to learn that this movie is about killing him off. Either way, you will want to watch the new comedy movie, ‘Killing Hasselhoff’.
The Plot
Chris, played by Ken Yeung from ‘The Hangover’, is a struggling nightclub owner. He has a huge debt and the loan shark is on his back for money. He realizes that he has a way out of this situation. He is a member of a celebrity death pool. By killing the celebrity he picked in the death pool, he can resolve his problems. Hence, the quest begins to kill off David Hasselhoff. With the help of his friends, the nightclub owner does everything in his power to kill Hasselhoff so he can claim the jackpot. Viewers are kept in suspense as to whether he will fail or succeed.
The Cast
In addition to Ken Yeung as the nightclub owner and David Hasselhoff as himself, this film has a great cast. Jim Jeffries plays the role of Tommy while Rhys Darby from ‘Flight of the Conchords’ takes the role of Chris’ friend Fish. Actors who play themselves in the movie include Howie Mandel, Melanie Brown, Rick Fox, Gena Lee Nolin, Pat Monahan, Scott Mescudi, and Tony Rock. The voice of K.I.T.T. is provided by Justin Bieber.
Production
‘Killing Hasselhoff’ was originally written by Peter Hoare in 2007. He says that he has since rewritten the script over 40 times, either to make improvements himself or at the request of the producers. Hoare has said that he found this a difficult process but he is delighted with the final results.
The movie is directed by Darren Grant. For the majority of his career, Grant has focused on directing music videos, predominantly in the Hip Hop and R&B genres. He made his movie directorial debut in 2005 with ‘Diary of a Mad Black Woman’. He went on to direct ‘Make it Happen’ in 2008. This film starred Mary Elizabeth Winstead. ‘Killing Hasselhoff’ is the third movie Grant has directed.
There is a large production team that was involved in making this film, including David Hasselhoff, Ashok Amritraj, Michele Berk, Abhishek Devalla, Patrick Hughes, Warren Zide, and Michael J. Luisi. The studio involved in this movie is Lotus Pictures.

This movie is available for digital download from September 18, 2017. Alternatively, you can wait for its release on Blu-ray and DVD on October 2, 2017. Overall, this black comedy has potential as it contains something for everyone; from humor to action. The combination of the script and the cast should mean that ‘Killing Hasselhoff’ will appeal to a wide range of different people.
