Paris Hilton Reflects on Sex Tape Released in 2004

It’s very hard to feel sorry for Paris Hilton even after she’s described the way she felt during the sex tape she was in after it was leaked, or released, in 2004. She admits that it felt as though she was being raped, though quite honestly it’s still a hard thing to do to bring up any empathy for a young woman that could hire the best therapist, obtain the best care, and undergo the finest therapy that money can afford. It’s not hard to state that people have built her up to be the ultra-spoiled and bratty woman that has been so highly publicized throughout the years. The image that the public wants to give her could be completely fabricated, but it could also be very real. In that case the sex tape could be a huge regret of hers that has prompted her to speak out in such a manner as to make herself the victim.

Again, it’s hard to know which side to stand on as the public has been given a largely stylized version of Paris for a very long time. But given her celebrity status and the fact that nothing has seemed to slow her down throughout the years when it comes to being a known individual and an honest to goodness star it’s still hard to shed a tear for her in public. According to clips and snippets of the video that have been seen with heavy edits and blurs she didn’t seem to lament what she was doing at the time and didn’t beg for the moment to stop. Of course that doesn’t mean much to many people but it also begs the question as to whether she’s simply regretting it now and attempting to cover up the reason behind doing such a thing or if she was truly feeling as though she was being sexually abused. It’s really hard to argue for the latter no matter that she has claimed such at this point.

Hilton had this to say:

“It was like being raped. It felt like I’d lost part of my soul and been talked about in such cruel and mean ways. I literally wanted to die at some points. I was like, ‘I just don’t want to live,’ because I thought everything was taken away from me.”

This was more likely in response to the many comments that were levied at her after the tape had released since people were absolutely brutal about what she’d done and decided to let her know just what the public’s opinion of this was. That’s why it seems as though she might regret doing it, since the public didn’t praise her for it and instead attempted to lambaste her and ruin her image. To date however her image is doing just fine and while she might be haunted by the sex tape a lot of people have opted to forget it at this point. It’s old news, nothing that a lot of folks haven’t heard before a few dozen times. Public opinion is fickle after all and doesn’t linger on things as long as the people they happen to.
