Alright, I’ve had it. Dove Cameron is officially the straw that broke the camel’s back. I have to say this. I feel I’m obligated and that an investigation needs to take place as soon as possible. Not sure if you’ve seen these new photos of Dove Cameron channeling a Marilyn Monroe but the above photo is part of the gallery. Don’t get me wrong. Dove Cameron is 21 years old and she can do whatever she wants. And I do admit she happens to do an excellent rendition of Monroe in Galore magazine. The photo shoot was done by PRINCE + JACOB and I have to say as homages to Monroe go, this one is of high quality. But that’s not my question. Here’s my question.
What the hell is going on at the Disney Channel with their young female actors? Seriously? How long can we let this go on? Cameron, who stars on Liv and Maddie is just another in what appears to be an endless line of Disney starlets who eventually turn to doing some seriously sultry shoots. What’s in these girls contracts? What the hell does it say in their scripts that we aren’t reading? Do you think parents get some note when they start their careers there? It might go something like this:
Dear Dove’s Mom and Dad,
We here are Disney are extremely proud that Dove will be joining the Disney family. We’d like to keep a child-like image for Dove for as long as is humanly possible. However, the second she hits puberty just know that we expect her to become a sex symbol effective immediately. No questions. No debates. This is happening. As soon as Dove has a hint of woman in her you are to strip her clothes off and expose her to as many outlets as possible so she’ll be seen as a sexy little thing and not a Disney Star. When the time is right you’ll claim she wanted to “explore opportunities” and will quit the network, but know this. This contract is for the rest of her life or until she starts looking old and unattractive. Remember Dove’s parents. We own you and any movie or job Dove books in her “sexy” or Disney career, we get a piece of that.
