Dolly Parton Explains Why She Doesn’t Go on Rides at Dollywood

It’s kind of funny why Dolly Parton won’t go on the rides at Dollywood but you kind of don’t want to laugh since you might risk offending the icon. The truth is that at her age there are a few things about her that might go flying back in such a way as to make an embarrassment of her if it was seen by the public. There’s nothing unkind meant by this but some of the rides are kind of fast and Parton is getting up there in years and, well, she’s partial to her hair being just the way it is if you haven’t paid that much attention over the years. In other words she likes to maintain her looks for the public.

The great thing though is that she also enjoys seeing how much fun the guests have at the park and always expresses her gratitude that people continue to come. Dolly Parton has been an iconic part of American culture for decades now and thanks to her music and onscreen contributions she’s become a legend in her own time. She’s been one of the most influential performers of all time and there aren’t a lot of people in the world that haven’t heard her name at least once or twice. That being said she’s still a great performer but she’s also someone that belongs to the generations that have come before and not so much those that are growing up now. Her popularity continues mostly because of those that remember how she was, not really how she is at this time. While she’s still wildly popular she’s still getting up there now and her star has definitely dimmed a bit.

But during her prime she was one of the most stunning and electrifying women in music and movies since she took a no-nonsense attitude and made it work for her in various ways that created the kind of star that was someone that women could look up to and even emulate at times. She was a bit over the top sometimes and kind of went on a tangent with her career for a while that didn’t make a lot of sense but she still came back time and again and was someone that people could really relate to and enjoy. Her brand of entertainment is one of those that’s always been reliable and for the most part can be depended on to be there at all times when people really want to see something special. She’s a survivor and an endearing musician as well as an actor, and is someone that you can’t help but smile when you see performing or appearing as a guest star.

So she doesn’t get on the rides at Dollywood, so what? She no doubt gets just as much enjoyment watching the people have fun and laughing along with their loved ones as they enjoy the experience and each other’s company. At her age the rides aren’t the most important part after all, but the memories are.
