Deadpool 3 might be a ways off but it’s still something that a lot of people want to see since the first two, barring anyone that didn’t like them for one thing or another, were quite successful. Yes there was a lot of material used that was less than PC, thankfully, and Deadpool is a highly controversial character, also thankfully. But putting Spider-Man into the mix with him would be something that fans would line up to see since in the comics, as Gavin Jasper of Den of Geek! might agree with, this team-up hasn’t gone as smoothly as it could but it’s still been something that has been seen that as annoying as he can be, Spider-Man doesn’t really hold a candle to the annoyance that is Deadpool. The idea of putting them together on the big screen doesn’t even seem like a possibility however since Sony has taken the character back while Deadpool is a part of Fox and will therefore be stuck with Disney for the foreseeable future. To think that they’d be able to get on the screen as a workable or at least interesting duo is something that likely won’t happen until Sony decides that the MCU was actually doing better with Spider-Man than they have to date.
But to be honest these two characters are pretty different and out of all the heroes that Deadpool has interacted with, Spidey is probably one of the most naive as well as innocent since he doesn’t have the working knowledge of the criminal underworld that Deadpool does, he’s not as kill-happy, and he’s certainly not as nuts as Wade is. The current Spider-Man we have is still a kid on the big screen even though Tom Holland is a grown man, and as a result he’s not as likely to be ready for the kind of uncertainty and mayhem that Deadpool can bring. That’s what makes this pairing kind of odd since where Peter tries to understand things and how best to proceed more than not, Wade just kind of blunders his way into a few things without really considering who he’s blasting away at, unless they happen to be innocent and not worth blowing away. Spidey tends to be a little more concerned with collateral damage and saving anyone and everyone in the path while not killing the bad guy since he’s more about justice than revenge.
It’s easy to see why these two individuals, I still hesitate to call Deadpool a hero since he’s been seen to refuse the title as well, are so opposite. Spider-Man doesn’t kill people by choice while Deadpool has racked up a body count that could rival quite a few Marvel characters throughout the years. It’s not hard to see them teaming up since despite being a killer, Deadpool is still a very chatty individual that isn’t so inherently evil that he always shoots first without talking. But saying that Spider-Man can’t really get behind Wade’s philosophy of shoot, stab, hack, slash, maim, or otherwise harm people is kind of an understatement. Spider-Man has always had a strong sense of morals that don’t allow him to simply become an overly aggressive individual. This isn’t to say that he hasn’t thrown down in the past, as Spider-Man has gone toe to toe with some of the toughest beings in the Marvel universe and has been seen to get a bit violent when the need absolutely called for it. But otherwise he’s not really that hardcore when compared to Deadpool, who’s killed dozens of people just to get one individual as a common practice.
Both men have a deep sense of morality, believe or not there are things that Deadpool will not do, but between the two of them, Deadpool will go megaton at the drop of a hat without anyone forcing him to do so. That, plus the stunning and unpredictable nature that Wade is known to possess makes him a hard person for anyone to team up with since he tends to get on the nerves and his methods aren’t really seen as agreeable to a lot of personal philosophies. To see them team up on the big screen though is obviously something that a lot of people would love to see, even if it’s not bound to happen anytime in the near future. It does raise a lot of questions since you might think that it would make a great deal of sense to work together as one studio to another to create a movie that could benefit both, but that’s not what seems to happen. When it comes to team-ups this is one of the many that would get the attention of many people since the opposite nature of the characters is great enough to really drive a story and keep the level of interest throughout the movie. Unfortunately as it’s stated by Jacob Oller of SyFy Wire, Kevin Feige has already shot this idea down, so dream all you want, but we might not see this.
