Days of Our Lives Behind the Scenes Gossip

Days of Our Lives Behind the Scenes Gossip
Days of Our Lives fans are more than a little bit upset that there is a long weekend going on. Well, we’d like to say that they are mixed. They get the long weekend without work, with a lot of delicious food, with the holiday spirit, and with some extra days to sleep in, and that’s not bad. However, when your favorite daytime soap is off the air for four solid days, it’s more than frustrating and slightly annoying. We get that, but we also think that this is the kind of day that you sit back and try to enjoy. You should be in the middle of shopping for holiday gifts your kids don’t need, and you should be in the middle of feeling like you’re a bit comatose because you ate too much yesterday. But it might be a good time for you to sit back and check out some behind-the-scenes gossip going on.

It’s Intense

You might think that things on the set here, and there are a few things you might not know about that. For one, it takes approximately 10 days to shoot one episode of your favorite prime-time show, which does seem like a lot, doesn’t it? You might not think that there is that much that needs to be shot when you have a one-hour program without too many variables, but it’s a lot of intense work you don’t realize is there. Except on daytime soaps, you have far less than that. In fact, you are taking those 10 days and shooting 7.5 episodes. And that’s not the only issue, either. It’s also something that affects the cast, who doesn’t get any cue cards or prompters. They get their scripts, they learn their lines, and they have one day to make that all happen. They don’t get to take home their script and read it for a week. Their job requires they do it now.

Actors Get One Take

When you shoot 7.5 episodes of one show in a week, you have to get things right the first time. There just isn’t any room for mistakes around here, and that’s all there is to it. So, when you see your favorite actors and actresses on the show, just think about how much they had to learn in such a little bit of time, and think about the fact that they had to do all that right the first time. We all believe that perfection is overrated, but not on the set of your favorite soaps.

They’re Not Always Clean

We hear that there is a good chance that the illustrious Brady Black himself is the messiest man on the show. That was according to a 2009 interview he did (along with two other former members of the show who are no longer there). He admitted that he did have a very messy dressing room, but he also doesn’t seem all that upset by the fact that he’s not the cleanest man in the bunch. In fact, we think that he might just like things the way he likes them. And, that was a decade ago, so we wonder if someone else might have surpassed his mess.

Long Time Fans

We all saw Marci Miller leave the role of Abby this week after only taking it over a few years back, but that’s all good. Fans were pretty upset when Kate Mansi left the role, but now she’s back, and we are all missing Miller. However, Miller’s mother is such a fan of the show that she even named her other daughter after Kayla. Now, if that’s not true love and affection and all good things right there, we don’t know what is.

The Cast is Musically Inclined

We love a musically inclined situation, and this is no different. This cast loves to show off their skills with the musical instruments they can get their hands on, and that’s great news. They like to sing, dance, play music, and more — and that really does make them sound like a lot of fun. We like it. We are fans. We are on board with all that they are doing and all that they are bringing to the party.
