Days of Our Lives would be nothing short of totally boring if the writers didn’t bring the drama, but it would be nothing like it is now if it weren’t for the men and the women who come onto the show every single day to bring their talents to the screen. It’s too much for us to bear, sometimes, when we see just how good they are. Yesterday, we brought you the beauty of some of our favorite actresses on the show in the moment. We’ve seen the good, and the bad, from all of them, and they’ve led us to notice how much they have reached the top this year. We want to bring the same recognition to the men of the show, too. They might not always make it onto the list of our favorite actors ever, but they do make it onto the list of our favorite actors of the moment.
John Aniston
He’s had his fair share of time to be on the list of the best of the best over the years, but he’s shining right now. There are many times when we don’t see too much of him on the screen because he’s busy with his life and the enjoyment that brings him, but he’s been giving it his all lately, and we love when they give him a chance to show off his talents. He’s been looking to keep his family safe from the massive mess that is going down lately, and he’s ordering hits left and right. He knows his wife will not approve of his tactics, yet he’s using them and working them anyway. While he may not always be the one who does the work himself, he’s the one who is doing the work on his own in the best way possible. He’s showing us what he has, how it’s working for him, and what he wants, and we love it. He’s shining in this year.
Matthew Ashford
We never thought we would have a chance to say this over the years, but he’s back and we are loving him. He came back a totally different man, too, which is not an easy feat to pull off. When you spend that many years being a person who is one thing, and you come back to play a person who is another, it’s not the same. It’s a lot of work, a lot of effort, and a lot of stuff to handle, but he’s handled it like it was his job and he did the best he could. Except, he didn’t do the best he could. He did the best ever, and we love him for it. He’s rocked this job like he owns it, and he’s taken on the new personality of his old character and turned it into himself. He’s back to being the old Jack now, and we cannot handle how good he is in this role. He’s so good, in fact, that we are more than a little excited to see how much better he will be in the near future.
Robert Scott Wilson
It you thought for even one moment there was even a small chance that anyone else on the show would get this title, it’s your fault. There is not a person in Salem who has rocked our world more than this young man this year. From turning his entire personality around to making us fall in love with him, he’s shone like it was his only goal in the world. He’s become a killer who had a personality disorder and may issues in his life to a man who is going to help all the people, do all the kind things, and love a woman like he never did before. He’s changed more than any character in the world, and not because he came back home without his memory. He came back home to let people know that there are people alive, that there is hope, and that there is going to be a big change. He is the change, and we love him for it. He fell for Ciara, and they are nothing short of spectacular together. They are all we love in the world, and we are not ashamed.
