Day of Our Lives fans know that Tripp is not in a good place, and we all know he has a lot of issues to work out. He’s not someone who has a good concept of when he’s making good decisions and when he’s not. He’s been able to find the family he didn’t know he had, and he’s heartbroken to learn that someone smothered his birth mother in her hospital bed until she died. She’s not here to meet him, he’s been told his father did it to protect people because she was a job to him. We all know it’s a lie, and Tripp knows it’s not true, either. He’s not stupid, and he can tell his biological father is protecting someone else. We all know this is true, but we also know it’s because he’s protecting his other son, Joey.
Tripp doesn’t know this. He is only using the most logical answer in his mind, which is that his stepmother is the one who killed his biological mother. In his mind, she’s the only one who makes sense. She would not have liked that her husband was with another woman, and she would not have liked to learn he had a child with another woman. But that isn’t the case. Kayla understands that Steve had a life when he was not with her, and the mistakes he made in the past have been buried.
Tripp decides that it must be Kayla Steve is covering for. He’s going to plan a day of relaxation and spa-like enjoyment for his wife as he manages to get her some free time, but Tripp is going to ruin this for him. We hear that he will be looking to make sure Kayla pays for what he believes she did to his mother, and he is not going to do anything to be good to her. They have bonded, but a plan is forming. Will he succeed in harming her or making her pay? Or will Joey find out and make it his mission to save his mother by speaking the real truth?
