It’s not easy being compared to a famous sibling all the time, even when you happen to be famous and have your own things going. Dannii Minogue is a star in her own right and a rather wealthy woman that has a lot going for her at the moment but for a good deal of her life she has had to live with people comparing her to Kylie Minogue quite often. The good part about this is that she does care a lot about her sister and sticks up for her whenever anyone decides to speak ill of Kylie. That’s the kind of bond that parents want their children to have after all since after the friends and acquaintances and whoever else wants to ride your coattails is gone, family is typically all that’s left. Thankfully though the comparisons don’t seem to bother her as much since she’s developed her own fame and created her own following throughout the years in a way that has been kind of impressive.

This feud started on The X Factor UK and didn’t dissipate it seems, ever. Sharon Osbourne simply didn’t like Dannii for some reason and let her know all about it to the point where Danni just tried to ignore her, which only made things worse. In fact it sounds as though Sharon was having a go at Kylie at one point when the producers of the show had to physically remove her since she simply wouldn’t stop.
9. Initially she didn’t really want kids it sounds like.
Charlie Coe for the Daily Mail does make a good point when he writes how Dannii was kind of awkward around kids until she had her own. This is pretty normal as she’s likely figured out considering that a lot of people that don’t have kids don’t know how to handle them. Once you have them though, as she found out, it becomes a lot easier.
8. Yes, she IS Kylie Minogue’s sister.
There are those in the industry that have the same last name and are assumed to be siblings or somehow related to other famous people when in fact they’re not, but Dannii and Kylie are in fact sisters.
7. She started in soap operas when she was 7.
Anyone that says this is too young to start in soap operas obviously hasn’t watched one since the kids are taken in young and taught how to act and how to hit their marks as they need to. There’s no doubt someone on hand to take care of their mental well-being but it’s still a job, and one that requires children from time to time for certain story lines.

Dannii is not someone that was content to sit and wait for fame or just let what she had sustain her for long since she’s been a busy individual for a lot of years and has been doing what she could to amass her fortune.

Thankfully she was able to defend whatever words she said to prove that she wasn’t a racist, but it’s kind of disheartening that what we say is bound to be taken in such a wrong manner by so many people.

This seems like something that would have been expected since Kylie Minogue did become a big hit and kind of overshadowed her sister for a while. But despite that the two of them have been very close throughout their lives.

Given that she’s not talked about as much it might be surprising to some to learn that Dannii is in fact one of those individuals that has enough awards under her belt to warrant a wall-sized display that will allow them all to be seen.

That’s not bad at all for someone that seems to have played second fiddle to her older sister for this long. In truth Dannii’s career might have been slightly lesser than Kylie’s, or was seen that way by some, but she’s amassed a pretty hefty fortune.

Anita Lyons for Now to Love makes it pretty clear that Dannii was pretty down and out and needed some sort of help. Despite her parents not approving of it she went ahead and posed for Australian Playboy and finally got herself out of debt. Hey, there are a lot of other magazines not nearly as respected that she could have posed for.
