The Curse of Oak Island Season Finale is Approaching

The season finale is edging closer on The Curse of Oak Island.  Tonight we’ll be getting a new episode where incredible discoveries are made at Smith’s Cove and in the Money Pit.  We have a teaser for you below but I wanted to go over a few things as the show’s season is set to close.  There have been more opinions on Rick and Marty Lagina this season than ever.  There have been more complaints this season than ever.  But let me remind you why people watch the show.

The subject matter of the show is fascinating, the characters are very likable and interesting. Unfortunately, the narrator isn’t everyone’s favorite.  I think that’s something we can all agree on.  Every time I hear “Could it be?”, “Have they found?” etc,  it makes me angry and I have to get up and walk around.  However you have to admit that taping the show and jumping over all the filler is beginning to sound better and better. The thrill of the chase, definitely on a smaller scale, but it’s that how you feel if you go metal detecting on a beach, never know if you’ll find something but just the idea that you can.  You just never know.

I, and I think many, can live with the fact that they haven’t found anything yet.  However there are two legit complaints I do have.  The recaps are incessant and the show tries to trick us every week with the coming attractions. Sometimes (like last week) they come right out and say, “This is it…it all comes down to this!!!” But it never does….Please stop it guys!  We can live with not every episode being “the one!”

Lastly, if you need reassurance that the show has a purpose, here are some things Marty and Rick have accomplished:

  • You have brought attention to the First Nations and the Mi’kmaq Tribe. They have a place in history.
  • You have reopened the archaeological question of Pre-Colombian travel to North America.
  • You have reminded us of the importance of the Free Masons in the building of North America.
  • You have re-opened the possibility of that the Knights Templar crossed the Atlantic before others. Don’t look for financial reward and “consumables.” They may well be your downfall.

Here’s a preview of tonight’s episode
