Building a LEGO representation of the Millennium Falcon is impressive enough, but building it out of LEGO’s that aren’t an original part of the kit is even more so. Someone had to have had the patience to go through their set and find every last piece they needed in order to create this. I’m pretty certain of that assumption simply because I have yet to see any set like this sold in stores. The time and effort it would have taken to build this thing is insane, not to mention kind of inspiring in a way since if you can think about how long it would take to find all the corresponding parts that would be needed you might get a better idea of just how tough this would be.
Upon looking at this thing a little closer it can be seen that some of the parts obviously aren’t as standard as the kit would be and are therefore not the kind that would belong on the Falcon in the first place. But for this version they’re needed for one purpose or another to hold the thing together. You can see the form clearly but with so many colors creating a riotous effect across the main body it’s kind of hard to see all the other details. Whoever did this however paid attention to the form of the Falcon as well as the various features that it possesses. I almost get the feeling that some of the aesthetic choices on this thing were part of the builder’s personal style rather than anything to do with the structure, and that makes it even more special.
The amount of planning that had to go into this thing is just hard to really fathom. If you’ve watched the movies and studied the ship I can see how it would be etched into your memory, but still, doing this thing entirely from different LEGO parts and having to figure what to put where would be something that could drive pretty much anyone up the wall. Anyone but a LEGO master that is.

I mean take a look at this thing from every angle. If you can get past the colors and how they clash with each other, sorry but it’s true, then you can see every little detail down to the most thought out piece. My guess is that whoever did this had to have a picture of the Falcon on hand at all times just as reference, or perhaps had the instructions to the Falcon LEGO kit nearby so that they knew which shape to grab. The level of skill this had to take to put together by memory would be epic at the very least.
Am I jealous? A little bit, yes, because usually when I’m putting LEGO’s together I tend to have a lot of spare parts and something doesn’t look right with the finished product. I’d love to be able to do something like even if it took a while.
