Cinema’s Best One-Man Wrecking Machines

John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone)

As amazingly far fetched as every Rambo movie is, they’re all pretty awesome.  Even the one where Stallone is running around in his late 60s and blasting his enemies away.  But I’d have to go with Rambo II as being his greatest performance.  He basically takes out all of Vietnam and high ranking Russian officers all at once.  Thankfully this 10 minute tribute exists to highlight some of his best moments.   Thanks Rambo!

Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins – The Silence of the Lambs)

Hmm, I bet you weren’t expecting to see Hannibal on this list were you? Gotcha. But now when you’re thinking about it, one-man wrecking machine seems like a pretty appropriate description, no? Hannibal can take anyone out at any time.

Neo (Keanu Reeves – The Matrix

Whoa.

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon – The Bourne Identity)

Did Jason Bourne take the number one spot because I just watched his trilogy back to back last week? It’s possible, but mostly it’s because Bourne is able to foil an entire government, every police station in the world and a black ops army of assassins, all without any superhuman traits. He puts the “man” in one-man army, and for that, he’s on this list.

Any 80s Arnold Schwarzenegger Character

The two movies in particularly I’m thinking about here would be Commando and Running Man.  Full body count is way higher in Commando but come on.  He’s quite the dude in Running Man.  It’s not easy taking on that singing electric dude all by yourself.

James Bond (all actors except Timothy Dalton, he was a wuss)

Of course we were going to mention Mr. Bond.  The guy takes out every single villain and his/her crew in every single movie.  He will continue to do so for the rest of time because well….that’s what he does.

*There are plenty more and we’d love to hear your additions in the comments.  But for argument’s sake let’s go with the guy from Apocalypto, should we mention Crocodile Dundee?  Yes!  Like we said, plenty more.
