10 Things You Didn’t Know about Charly Arnolt

Charly Arnolt is a household name with a famous face. The famed sports reporter launched a podcast for ESPN titled “First Take, Her Take,” alongside her many other reporting and hosting duties, and she’s created a massive fan base. The good news that she’s sharing with the world in the spring of 2021 is that she’s coming to ESPN full time following the Easter holiday, and she could not be more excited about her new gig. It’s time for her fans to learn everything there is to know about the star.

1. She’s From Indianapolis

Charly Arnolt grew up in the Midwest. She was born and raised in the city, she grew up there with her family, and she spent a lot of time focusing on her love of sports while she was there. She was born on July 14, 1987.

2. She’s an Athlete

Arnolt dreamed of one day growing up to become a professional volleyball player. However, she’s only 5 feet 2 inches tall, which apparently doesn’t make for a great pro player. She also played softball growing up. She loved sports, and she was heavily involved in as many sports and activities as she had time for as a child and teen.

3. She Grew Up a Gymnast

Sports are sports, but gymnastics is difficult. It’s a sport that you can learn, but you cannot make yourself more flexible or nimble. You can learn to play ball. You can learn the rules of a sport and become good, but you cannot make yourself a wonderful gymnast unless you already have that ability in you. She did, and she spent the first part of her childhood learning this amazing sport.

4. She’s Still Physically Active

When Arnolt is not at work, you can usually find her being active. She’s heavily into CrossFit, and she also studies something called Muay Thai. We might not be sure what that means, but it sounds complex and probably difficult. She also spends her free time playing flag football and sand volleyball when time allows.

5. She’s A Comedian

When you want to be good at something, you learn to do it well. She’s a woman who wanted to be a stand-up comic when she wasn’t in the middle of being a sports reporter, so she takes the time to study improv. It’s not easy, but she does it all.

6. She is Well Educated

When it was time to enter college, she was accepted into the American University in Washington, D.C., and that’s where she spent her college career. She was good, too. She studied broadcast journalism, which probably does not come as a shock to anyone. She graduated summa cum laude with her degree.

7. She’s Close to Her Mom

Her mother, Charlene, is one of her biggest role models and inspirations in life. Her mom worked as a speech pathologist while she was growing up, and her dedication to her own career no doubt played a large role in how Charly learned to grow up and apply her own work ethic to her own life.

8. She’s Very Private

While we wonder if she even has time for a personal life outside of all she’s doing for work, we know that she’s not about to share that information with any of us. Arnolt keeps her private life exceptionally private, and she does not discuss anything she does outside of her work life with anyone.

9. She Has a Large Following

She might seem like someone who has so many things to do that she doesn’t have time to update her social media accounts, but she has time. She keeps her Instagram page updated with photos of herself at work and doing things that involve work regularly, and her fan base is growing quickly. As of March 2021, she has more than 821k followers, and they love to see what she’s up to and how she’s living her life. She keeps them updated, but she does not share anything overly personal with any of them.

10. She’s A Dedicated Dog Mom

If you want to know one thing personal about Charly Arnolt, it is that she has a baby. Her baby is her dog. Her little pup is Zorra Angelina Arnolt, and she is adorable. Her mom loves her, spends a lot of time with her, and shares a lot of photos of the sweet dog on social media. She’s clearly very invested in this relationship, and it might mean that if she ever decides to go public with a relationship with another person, that person better love her dog just as much as she does.
