Is There a Chance We’ll Ever See Harley Quinn on Gotham?

The interesting thing about the Gotham series on TV is that anyone and everyone you see in the show, from the extras to the leads to the guest starts, could potentially become someone that you’ve been waiting to see for a while. That means that it’s not possible to rule out Harley Quinn just yet since there are a lot of females that could possibly make the cut when it comes to the Joker-loving acrobatic maniac. The trick of it is that she’ll need to be around when the Joker finally makes his entrance, as she’s been his woman and right hand for quite a while and they’re almost always together these days. Who becomes Harley however is still a big question that has yet to be decided.

Some people think that Barbara Kean should be transformed into the laughing girl that rolls so easily with the Joker, as she’s been headed down a dark and maniacal road for a while now. But others think that Barbara needs to eventually get back with Jim and bring forth a bit of continuity that will tie the series in with the main idea of the hero that has yet to be fully realized in Gotham. Barbara has been going the right direction for the part to be honest, but she still kind of flip flops back and forth occasionally and would seem to be undecided as of now. But that then leaves the question of just who would take on the role and when it would happen. It already got shot down in season 3, but since there’s always something new coming up in this series there’s more than enough room to find a space for Harley and, of course, the Joker.

The number of moving parts in the Gotham series leaves a person to wonder just where the next character is going to come from and how they’re going to be introduced. Honestly it seems like the Joker needs to be announced first in this case since Harley is the one that follows the Joker, not the other way around. But with the manner by which things are changing so rapidly now things could go either way if you really look at it. Harley Quinn could become a realized character before the Joker simply because she’s more desired in some ways than the big man, or she could come in first to possibly introduce the coming of the Joker, as Jerome has already been deemed as a version of the Joker, but not the man himself no matter how much it seems like it might be him. In any case if the Joker is there then it seems like Harley Quinn must be since the two are pretty hard to separate.

Of course if they’re both there then the chances are good that Gotham will get a lot wilder as time goes on and the landscape will change since the Joker is one of the most vicious criminals to ever come along. If he shows up, then Harley’s not too far behind.
