Casting the Eventual Brett Kavanaugh Lifetime Movie

At this point you might be paying close attention to the issue that has swept the nation concerning Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, or you might be face-palming yourself wondering when the nation is going to finally settle and when the accusations, right or wrong, will finally be over. Settle in, because you’re in for the long haul like the rest of the country since being human is beginning to mean that what we did in the past will always come back to haunt us, and for those that are truly guilty, it should. Before moving ahead with this understand that my own personal view is that anyone that does another wrong should be made to pay for it, so long as the burden of proof is provided and the word of the accuser can be backed up. The trauma that is felt by those that have been wronged in the way Ford was is not a joke and it’s not meant to be doubted out of hand, but given that there have in fact been accusations in the past that have ruined the lives of the accused it bears looking into so as to make certain that such matters are being handled the way they should.

That being said, the likelihood that there will be a movie made about Kavanaugh and Ford at one point or another is something you can almost bet on since the practice of making such stories into movies is as American as anything. But who would play which part?

Quite honestly there are only two parts that need to be given such careful consideration as they are at the heart of this matter.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford – Sarah Paulson

Sarah is the type of actress that can project strength or weakness in equal measures. Her time in films and especially in the American Horror Story seasons, of which she is only one of the few that has been around since season one, has proven that she is a very skilled woman that can go through a wide array of emotions and emotional states. Without saying anything negative about Dr. Ford, it seems that Sarah could easily emulate her pain as well as the horror and pain that one can hear in her voice during her confession. It is horrible to hear what happened to her, and yet it seems that these are the kind of situations that Sarah has been through in her time on AHS. It is disgusting to think of at all, especially if it’s true that Kavanaugh is guilty of this, but the fear that Ford has felt since is something that can be conveyed to film quite easily no matter that it is something that she will have to live with the rest of her life. One can only hope that Ford will find at least some measure of justice from her confession, but given the circus that has been created for this case one side is going to be completely devastated.

Brett Kavanaugh – Bob Odenkirk

In some way you have to wonder how anyone can play the part of someone that’s been openly accused of being guilty of sexual misconduct. Many would say that it’s a job, the simulated actions will take place in a controlled environment, and in truth the actors in this case would be playing the older versions of those that are currently in the news, meaning they would have no contact with one another. But at the same time being the character would surely force the actor to push their mind away from whatever preconceptions they might have about the case and simply act out the role. Bob Odenkirk is one of the few that has the looks that would be needed for this role, and he also has the gravitas that would be required to play the part of Kavanaugh. How much influence either Ford or Kavanaugh would have over this film is debatable since both sides would likely be willing to put in their two cents and disrupt the production by stating what did and didn’t happen. Right now however Bob and Sarah seem like the best possible options for a Lifetime movie should it happen any time in the near future.

One thing is very clear about this case, whatever is going to be said is now out in the open when it comes to a movie. Whether Ford or Kavanaugh have an issue with it doesn’t seem like it would be enough to keep a motivated producer or director from getting it made. Whatever side of the issue you fall on it goes a long way to say that the movie would anger some and seemingly exonerate the beliefs of others. Whatever happens, it would be another circus only slightly less in stature than the one that is already in motion.
