What the Cast from the Movie “Hackers” is Up to Today

Hackers” is a crime film that was released in 1995 but has since achieved cult status. This film was written by Rafael Moreu and directed by Iain Softley. It is about a group of high school students who become hackers as part of a corporate extortion conspiracy. Although the film was not commercially successful, it helped to launch the careers of many of those who starred in this movie. If you have ever watched ‘Hackers’, you might have wondered what has happened to those who starred in the film. Here is what some of the stars of ‘Hackers’ are up to today.

Jonny Lee Miller

Jonny Lee Miller played the lead role of Dade Murphy, who was also known as Zero Cool and Crash Override. Following this film, Johnny Lee Miller has worked prolifically in both film and television. In 2017, he reprised the role of Sick Boy for the film ‘T2 Trainspotting’, which is the sequel to ‘Trainspotting’. Since 2009, he has played the lead role of Sherlock Holmes in the television series ‘Elementary’.

Angelina Jolie

In this movie, Jolie starred as Kate Libby. Her character was also known as Acid Burn. Angelina Jolie has gone on to become one of the highest paid females in the film industry. She works as an actress, a director, and a producer. This award-winning actress most recently had roles in the 2017 films ‘First They Killed My Father’ and ‘The Breadwinner’. She is currently working on her next projects, which include playing the lead role in ‘Maleficent II’ and providing the voice of Stella for ‘The One and Only Ivan’. Since 2010, she has also had roles in or provided voices for ‘Salt’, ‘The Tourist’, ‘Kung Fu Panda 2′, Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Masters’, ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’, ‘Difret’, ‘Maleficent’, ‘Unbroken’, ‘By the Sea’, and ‘Kung Fu Panda 3′.

Renoly Santiago

Santiago portrayed Ramon Sanchez, also known as The Phantom Phreak. Although Santiago is still an actor, his career has seen many highs and lows and he has even taken sabbaticals from his career. He has had minor roles in both television and films and has taught acting classes.

Matthew Lillard

In ‘Hackers’, Matthew Lillard played the role of Emmanuel Goldstein/ Cereal Killer. He is probably now best-known as the voice of Shaggy Rogers in both the television series and the animated films of the ‘Scooby-Doo!’ franchise. The television series is ongoing and the next film is ‘Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ which is set for release in 2018. Also in 2018, he is playing the role of Dean Boland in ‘Good Girls’.

Laurence Mason

The character Paul Cook was also known as Lord Nikon and this role was played by Laurence Mason. He has continued to have a relatively successful career in the entertainment industry. He has appeared in many television series, although these have usually been for single episodes over the last few years. The last film in which he appeared was the 2014 film ‘Red Butterfly’. In 2018, he has a role in the film ‘LAbyrinth’.

Jesse Bradfor

Jesse Bradford played the role of Joey Pardella in ‘Hackers’. Bradford has continued to work in both film and television. He currently plays the recurring role of Harris Downey in the television series ‘Shooter’. His most recent film was the 2017 movie ‘The Year of Spectacular Men’ playing the role of Aaron. This movie is the directorial debut of actress Lea Thompson. Prior to this film, Jesse Bradford had not had a movie role since 2016 when he played Colton in ‘The California No’ and also had a role in ‘Dead Awake’.

Fisher Stevens

In this film, Fisher Stevens took on the part of Eugene Belford, who was also known as The Plague. Stevens has worked in the entertainment industry both on and off screen since ‘Hackers’. He has taken on the role of producer and director for many films and the last film he directed was ‘Bright Lights’ in 2016. In television, he has taken on many roles and the last time he appeared on television was in 2017 in ‘Vice Principals’. The films in which Stevens has had roles in recent years include ‘The Grande Budapest Hotel’, ‘Mission Blue’, ‘United Passions’, ‘Hail, Caesar!’, and ‘Isle of Dogs’. His next role is in the movie ‘Motherless Brooklyn’. The role he will play and the date the movie is set for release are yet to be announced.
