Cassia Tavares starred in TLC’s popular reality series 90 Day Fiancé in 2014. She joined the show in its second season, featuring alongside her ex-husband, Jason Hitch. After leaving the show, she has maintained a level of fame due to her commanding presence she exuded on the show.

Breaking Down Cassia Tavares’ Time on 90 Day Fiancé
Cassia Tavares joined 90 Day Fiancé after entering a relationship with Army reserves lieutenant Jason Hitch. They initially lit their flame through Facebook dating. Jason was living in the United States while Tavares was living in her home country of Brazil. After months of talking online, to help their relationship flourish, she then moved to America to be with Jason.
Cassia’s actions on the show earned her the nickname “gold digger,” and Jason and Cassia encountered many difficulties in their relationship during that time. As Jason was renowned for being incredibly frugal, he and Cassia frequently disagreed, further escalating their up and down dynamic. Yet, it is this volatile nature that made them so popular on the show, as many revelled in the drama while others rooted for them to work out their differences.
After only a year of marriage, it seemed like Jason and Cassia’s marriage was unstable due to these frequent arguments. Then, the couple briefly split up due to allegations that Hitch had been abusive. However, the pair made amends and resumed their romance. In an attempt to further rekindle what they had, they also went to marriage counselling. Despite these attempts, they divorced in 2018. The domestic abuse charges against Hitch later were dismissed.
What Has She Been Doing Since Leaving the Show?
Jason Hitch passed away on December 14, 2021. His death was reportedly the result of complications from contracting COVID-19 during the pandemic. Despite their differences, it seems that the ex-couple remained somewhat friendly with each other after the split. In the wake Hitch’s passing, Tavares took to her official Instagram page to pay her respects to her ex-husband. She wrote: “It’s always sad when someone you spent part of your life with stops breathing. I guess one could never be prepared for that. I wasn’t, today. When I started receiving messages, I thought it was a joke. I’m shocked. My condolences to his family and friends. Rest In Peace, Jason.”
After leaving 90 Day Fiancé, Tavares and Hitch started an online snack subscription service together called Gifting Fun. However, after their divorce, the business was dissolved. After this, Tavares attended and graduated from the University of South Florida in 2020. Since then, she appears to be leveraging her 90 Day Fiancé fame online, becoming what many would call an “influencer”. Her Instagram page currently has over 14,000 followers and she classes herself as a Digital Creator. From her posts, she appears to be enjoying herself as she travels around the world, visiting places like Paris, Lisbon, Miami, Calabria, and Rome.

In September 2019, Tavares shared a photo of herself and Giuseppe Compagnone on Instagram, seemingly introducing her new partner to the public following the breakup of her turbulent romance with Jason Hitch in 90 Day Fiancé season 2. Giuseppe placed several wedding tags to the photo, suggesting a more serious relationship between the couple, although Tavares gave no further details about their relationship. Based on their Instagram photos, it appears that Cassia and Giuseppe currently reside in Italy, where Giuseppe works as a personal fitness trainer. Giuseppe and Cassia have frequently appeared on one another’s Instagram posts, taking vacations to places like France, where they where posed next to the Eiffel Tower and then attended a concert by the band Glass Animals.
