10 Things You Didn’t Know about Carla Gallo

Carla Gallo is among the many that didn’t think that she would ever act again after her debut film, Spanking the Monkey. The title alone is kind of hilarious and off-putting to some folks, but for Carla, who had been dreaming about being an actress since she was young, it was kind of a depressing moment until she finally found another role in a short film in the year 2000. From that point on she was able to start creating a career that she both wanted and felt vindicated by as things started to happen, allowing her the chance to show what she could do and to finally follow the ambition that her dream had fostered. So far in her career she’s been very successful and she’s managed to take on several roles in movies and TV that have allowed her to become a well-known name and face.

Here are some things you might not have known about her.

10. She likes to play fast-talking, optimistic characters.

A lot of actors seem to like to play to their character type as it is a lot easier and tends to let them be themselves. But then there are some that want to play against type and do something they need to work a little harder for. It’s hard to know which one Carla is but fast-talking characters do seem like they’d be a bit harder if one wasn’t that way in real life.

9. She was in Californication.

There’s only one scene that seems to be all over the internet when it comes to Carla and her time on Californication and it’s a nude scene, so unfortunately for those wanting to see some T&A it’s not going to be shown here, but guaranteed, she was in the show.

8. She has a degree in Theater.

This is fairly common among actors and it’s not too much of a surprise since knowing at least a little something about what you want to go into would be a smart move for most people. But having a degree in it usually means that you can at least get up on stage and perform.

7. She was in Bones.

This seems like a pretty big shift from Californication, though it was still something that helped her out as it allowed her career to expand and grow as she continued to become known by her fans. Any role an actor can take usually helps them out in some way.

6. Her career started in 1994.

Carla has been around for a while and can easily be considered a veteran actor since by the end of the 90s things changed again and the landscape of film and TV had become different enough that many people had to stand up and take note.

5. She was in the 40-Year Old Virgin.

Remember the flashback to the reason why Andy decided to stay celibate? Yeah, when a girl sucks on your toes and you accidentally kick her in the face it’s not exactly a turn-on. To think that he swore off sex because of this however seems to indicate that he might have had bigger issues than the fear of losing his virginity.

4. She was in We Bought a Zoo.

It’s kind of hard to think of how you don’t notice that the home you want to buy is next to a zoo, but perhaps some carefully-planted trees and bushes might make it possible to not see the home from the zoo and vice versa.

3. She was in both Neighbors movies.

These movies were absolutely hilarious and unfortunately Carla didn’t get noticed that much since the main conflict was with the main characters. She was there as support and did her part but it was still hard to equate her level of importance with the others since she kind of came in and was gone within a short time.

2. Her husband is a screenwriter.

One has to wonder if this gives her any insight on anything when it comes to the business or if she perhaps might one day aspire to be a writer as well and try to diversify in her career. It could happen, and it wouldn’t be a bad thing to be honest.

1. She’s been in a few Judd Apatow movies.

Sometimes actors find people they like to work with and tend to stick with them for a while, or for as long as that other person has work for them or wants to work with them in turn. It’s all a matter of how good the chemistry is between them.

Carla seems as though she might have a lot riding on her acting career but not enough in any other field, though things do change and she could find herself trying out something new eventually. That might be interesting to see if it ever happens.
