Superpowers, superheroes, superhuman, anything “super” has become a staple on network television. Shows that like to explore what’s beyond our capability have become entrenched in our culture on nearly every network imaginable. So what sets one apart from the next? It all depends on the characters themselves and how dark, humorous, or twisted you want the show to be. If you tune in to watch The CW you might get a more “straight up” version of superhero show. If you watch FX, you might get the darker site. And if you watch FOX, well, you’ll get a mixed bag.
New show The Gifted just dropped it’s first trailer for FOX and it looks pretty awesome, as it should. With Bryan Singer behind this series, ties to X-Men, and realistic portrayals of teens messing with their powers this new drama could be a hit for the network. Not yet explained is why the X-Men and Brotherhood have seemingly disappeared. The Gifted has been picked up for a first season, to air on Fox presumably this Fall.
Here is the official synopsis
Action-adventure family drama The Gifted, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple [Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker] whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children [Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White] possess mutant powers.
