You knew her back in the day as Brittany Kerr, but you now know her as Brittany Aldean. Everyone remembers when she auditioned for American Idol, but we really remember her for the time when she was caught at an LA nightclub making out with country singer Jason Aldean, who was married to his high school sweetheart and the father of her children. It was a dark moment in which he came out and admitted that he made a mistake, but he ultimately realized that his high school sweetheart was not the love of his life, but that the woman he was kissing in the club was. Their story could have had a much different ending, but it seems that it’s a happily ever after ending now that they are married with children of their own. It makes us want to get to know her a bit more so that we can all get past the rumors from this unfortunate time.
1. She Tried Out for AI in Season 11
It was back in 2012 when she tried out for the show. She immediately won over the male judges, but she had a hard time getting Jennifer Lopez on board. She called her adorable, but told her she wasn’t powerful enough. Eventually, she made it. J.Lo told her no, and it turned out she was right saying that she wouldn’t last a week in Hollywood. But, it opened the door for her to meet her future husband.
2. She Got Married in 2015
It was a while before this that she was caught kissing her then-married husband in the club, but they did end up finding their own love story. She married him in March of 2015, and has since gone on to have two babies with her husband.
3. She’s a Bama Girl
The SEC is the best in the nation, and there is no question about that. Brittany Kerr graduated from the University of Alabama. She majored in human environmental science, but she didn’t quite get all she was looking for out of her college experience. She was a life-long cheerleader looking to join the squad at Bama, but they told her that she was too tall.

She might not have made it to the college cheer squad, but she did become a professional dancer. She was a part of the Charlotte Bobcats Lady Cats Dance Team. She danced for a season before she tried out for Idol and her life changed forever.

If there is one thing that she’s big on, it’s being a close family unit. She is always with her husband and their children on the road. They have a tour bus that’s been turned into a second home for them, and they always travel together as a family. It’s how they roll.

In case anyone has any doubts about her own strength, keep in mind that she is a first degree black belt. That’s not something you get just for fun. You must earn that belt through hard work, dedication, and a love of the craft. She’s clearly killing it when it comes to her dedication.

She was born on June 19, 1988, which makes her 32. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and that’s where she grew up. She lived with her family there almost her entire life, but she did leave for college. She’s no longer living there as she and her husband now live in Tennessee with their two kids and sometimes his two kids from his first marriage.
8. She Underwent IVF
Many people don’t realize how hard it was for her to get pregnant with both of her children. She had to go through IVF both times to get pregnant, but it worked out for her and her husband. They did make it work, and they are so happy to have their son and daughter.
9. There’s More Controversy About Her Relationship
The problem with meeting the man you marry when he’s married and you’re caught making out in a bar in LA is that many people form a dark opinion of you. We say that you have to let go of things and wonder if there is a chance that they were just meant to be, and this is something that they just had to go through. When her now-husband came out at the end of September 2012 to admit that he made a mistake in a bar but that he loved his wife and wanted to make his marriage work, everyone thought she was just a mistake. When he announced six months later that he was divorcing his wife, people thought they simply couldn’t get past what happened. When he showed up at an awards show the following year with the girl he was caught kissing in a bar two years before, people began to wonder if they ever stopped seeing one another. There is a lot of speculation that they continued their romance even when he was working on his marriage. We say that the past is the past, and it doesn’t matter when it seems like the right things all worked out.
10. She’s Happy
