Everything We Know About Bridgerton Season 3

In 2020, Shonda RhimesBridgerton debuted on Netflix. The fictional show about royal British high society, gossip, love stories, and family drama was so successful that it got renewed multiple times. Since then, Season 2 and the prequel: Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, were released for streaming.

Now, we finally got the confirmation that Bridgerton Season 3, which began filming in July 2022, finally wrapped in March 2023. Viewers already know that the show doesn’t follow the order of events of the book series. Producer Rhimes shared with Town & Country, that: “It’s going to be as exciting, and as inviting and enjoyable as seasons 1 and 2, we already know that. I’m already enjoying watching things, so it’s going to be great.”

The upcoming season will focus on the budding romance between the third-oldest Bridgerton, Colin, and Penelope Featherington. Nicola Coughlin, who plays Penelope, has expressed that it is time for her character to finally take brave steps. “I feel like if you see Penelope fawning over this boy for another season, you’ll be like, ‘Get it together! Come on, move on and get over it,'”. Luke Newton also sounded elated to bring their love story to the screen. Sure, he loves “Polin,” but there’s also lots of pressure on them due to the fans’ excitement.

It is confirmed now that all Bridgerton siblings, except for Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) be in Season 3. The third youngest sister, Francesca Bridgerton, will be played by Hannah Dodd. She’ll be replacing Ruby Stokes, who was unable to commit to the role. Three new actors: Daniel Francis, Sam Phillips, and James Phoon were added to the cast as well.

It is also likely that we get to see a number of cast members who were introduced in season 2 return for small roles in season 3. For instance, there’s Kate’s little sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) and perhaps Eloise’s “commoner” friend, Theo Sharpe, (Calam Lynch).

When Will Bridgerton Season 3 Be Released?

Bridgerton Season 3

There is no premiere date set yet, and that pretty much makes sense. Considering that Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story just came out in May, it is almost certain the wait will be longer. It’s rare for Netflix to release two seasons closely together from a business perspective.

With a big show like this, we can expect at least six months after filming ends for post-production and promotion of the new season. Bridgerton is one of the 10 biggest Netflix series of all time. So they’re not just going to launch it without a big premiere, fan events, and talk show appearances. However, there is hope for season 3’s release in the autumn of 2023
