Brad Pitt Bid $120,000 to Watch ‘Game of Thrones’ With Emilia Clarke

You read that right, Brad Pitt was seen at a charity auction bidding $120,000 to watch an episode of Game of Thrones with Emilia Clarke. You’d have to hope that Angelina Jolie isn’t going to be too offended by this, but of course it’s for charity and it’s a chance to sit with one of the stars of one of the most popular shows that HBO has produced in the last several years. A lot of fans that aren’t so well off would probably give a lot for this honor to sit by the Khaleesi after all.

But to drop that much on what amounts to a quick, hour-long date with Clarke to watch a single episode of the show it seems like a lot of money. That’s half the price of a home for a lot of families after all, though it was going to a great cause really. Sean Penn was holding his annual gala to raise money for efforts towards helping out Haiti and the Game of Thrones date just happened to be on the auction block. The bidding started at $20,000 but swiftly rose as the experience of watching an episode of Game of Thrones with one of its biggest stars was simply too good to pass on. Pitt raised the bidding on himself at one point but was eventually outbid by an unknown individual.

It’s enough to wonder if Pitt would have even gone to the screening or perhaps had some type of event to give some lucky fan the time of their life. I kind of doubt the latter since a lot of celebrities might do things like this, but this doesn’t seem like it would happen in such a case. But would they even watch the episode? Or would they spend the time discussing just what went into the episode and, since I’m certain Clarke would be in the featured episode, trying to figure out just what she was thinking or feeling at that moment? It’s hard to say since I can’t speak for what actors do when they get together. Chances are they just talk like regular people, only with shop talk about things that you and I might never fully understand or experience.

As a fan of Game of Thrones this would be such a great honor to sit and talk with Clarke about what goes on during the shooting of each episode and what it feels like to be starring in one of the greatest shows ever. Since the beginning she’s been one of the characters to watch, even though she came in as kind of a weaker character. I do believe that she became far tougher as far as her character goes when she watched her brother executed by her husband. She showed absolutely no remorse and no fear, and why should she?

Her brother sold her into what would have amounted to slavery had she not taken control of her fate, and so he deserved nothing less.

Man I can’t wait for the show to come back. Can you?
