Blue Planet II is Coming and The Trailer Looks Unreal

The trailer for Blue Planet II looks absolutely awesome. The wonders that lie just beneath the waves seem so plentiful that it seems impossible to think that mankind has done so much damage to the watery realm just beyond our shores. Much remains, but much is still in danger of being taken over and abused in ways that cannot be easily remedied. It might sound a bit cynical but there might come a day when there is nothing left to film that looks as magical as this, nor as vibrant.

Beneath the waves is another world that for all of our discovery and interest mankind still has found out very little about. There are depths that humans have not yet plumbed and places in the earth where the darkness swallows up whatever might lie beneath. What we have discovered is so inherently beautiful that to see it tarnished time and again is a very real tragedy that is hard to admit is the fault our own race.

Mankind is the true issue that the planet has yet to solve. Our waste, our need to thrive and push aside anything in our way, is the reason why so much of nature has been either made extinct or pushed to the brink. On its own nature is able to continue a harmonious balance between its many moving parts. This process is often brutal and unforgiving as well as largely uncaring, but it is a balance that keeps the world in check more or less. Natural disasters that occur are not so much a product of the creatures that live in a given environment but instead the process of a world as it continues to shift and adjust to its many working parts.

The wonders of the deep blue sea are so vast that it seems like one generation of humanity wouldn’t enough to affect them, let alone bring them to level of harm that they are in danger of at this point. But generation after generation humanity has somehow found a way to affect the vast oceans that are such an important source of life for this planet in so many ways. The majesty of the ocean landscapes that are shown in this trailer is more than enough to make many people realize that the treasures that lie just beyond our shores are worth admiring and more than worth protecting.

In a hundred years there is no telling what will remain and what will be left behind for those coming generations. Humanity is not slowing down in its growth and as a result the wondrous wildlife that has existed upon this earth and within its oceans for so long is very much in danger of being erased entirely. It might seem a bit melodramatic but if one looks closely enough they might be able to see the difference in the natural world vs. the industrialized world with each passing year.

While Blue Planet II is meant to show beauty and the grace of the underwater wilds, it is also a chance to understand just why they are worth saving.
