Big Brother 12 Week Eight HOH/Nominations Ceremony Recap

Due to the epical Emmys last night, Big Brother got put on the back burner. Sorry for the delay, but I am here now to bring you the lowdown of what could be a pretty boring week for the House Guests (and unfortunately us).

The first ten minutes of this weeks first Big Brother episode is spent on what happened during the Double Eviction hour this past Thursday, which we basically all could figure out through context clues and common sense. So other than a few backstabbing deals being made, we learn nothing new.

Finally, we are at the final five as they watch Brendon’s face goes gray. But the real game is about to begin, because there are three Brigade members left and they are playing for keeps. Enzo wants Britney and Ragan on the block, which Hayden backs up. Lane wants Ragan gone, but knows that he will have to put Britney in the line of fire to get this accomplished. Decisions, decisions, but let’s see who wins HOH first shall we?

The HOH competition is Big Brother Blackjack and thankfully the concept of blackjack is warped a little, since the House Guests have to match the cards Hayden deals them by tossing a ball into a matching box that is laid out in front of them. The ball is rolled down a contraption that helps with the ball toss. It’s not that hard of a concept, just hard to describe at this ungodly hour. Lane turns out to be the one to beat, but he doesn’t want the HOH, which would put him in a tight position in the nomination ceremony. Still see some dissension in the Brigade ranks there. Britney falls out first, then Enzo. Lane is pissed, because now he has to win for the Brigade due to Enzo’s lack of skills to win any Big Brother competition since day one. You would think the Brigade would’ve sent him home a long time ago due to his dead weight factor, but I guess the guy brings the comic relief to the group, which is imperative to a group of boneheads. In the end, Lane wins the competition and the writing is on the wall for the rest of this episode on who will go up for nomination.

After everyone voices their opinion on Lane winning the HOH, we finally get to see the big lug’s HOH room, which has pictures of is younger brother, who looks like he could take five Lanes all at once. I’m serious, the guy is HUGE. Even Enzo noticed that fact. But the funny thing to learn is that Lane works for his family’s oil company (a fact that went clearly over my head) as a host for guests, not at the actual oil rig. No wonder he hasn’t won any HOHs this season until now… he probably doesn’t really need the money, a fact that doesn’t leave Britney or Hayden’s minds as they discuss final two jury votes. Hayden lets Britney (and us) in on the stuff that Lane and his family owns. Britney claims love for her faux bro, but not enough for him to win $500,000 dollars, especially if he doesn’t need it.

Enzo and Hayden discuss Lane’s nomination options, which Enzo thinks should and only should be Ragan and Britney. He forgot that one of them could win HOH and remove themselves from the block, making it a tie vote for Lane, which would screw up Lane’s game if Britney is one of the nominations.

After some filler moments featuring Enzo’s boredom, Lane is introduced to another damn Pandora’s Box. Really, Big Brother? Lane has the option of taking money from a Big Brother Money tree and of course the lughead accepts the Pandora’s Box. Now, Lane has to pick three envelopes to total up $10,000, but with each envelope comes a punishment for the house, including himself. The first envelope is $79, the second is $12, and the third is $.17. Yes, Lane picked only $91.17 from the tree, making the other House Guests endure punishments for his greedy nature. This incident on top of his gold mine back home might not make him a favorite in the jury house if he makes it to the final two… He tells the House Guests what he did and you can see Hayden’s look of disbelief speaks volumes. The first punishment? No utensils for a week. Wow…

Later, Britney asks Lane about his nominations and Britney walks herself into a trap after she suggests Hayden should go up beside Ragan instead of Enzo. Lane next asks Enzo and Hayden if they want to be the pawn, but they aren’t budging and thinks he should go with the original plan of Britney and Ragan on the block. Does he do this? Hell no.

Enzo goes up against Ragan and he is pissed. Lane tells the Big Brother diary room that at least Britney has one competitions and that it should be time for Enzo to actually play the game instead of floating by. I agree with this sentiment.

How about you?
