The Best Role in Charles Dance’s Career Other than Tywin Lannister on Game of Thrones

Tywin Lannister is one of the most ruthless and evil characters on Game of Thrones.   There’s a reason for it.  It’s because the actor who plays Tywin has a storied history of being the “bad guy.”  Charles Dance is no stranger to playing evil characters.  You might remember him as the guy who had the glass eye in Last Action Hero.   He’s a tall, skinny, imposing figure with a face that frankly scares you a little.   While Dance was great in Last Action hero and he kills it as a Lannister, I’m going with the movie The Golden Child as being the best villain he’s ever played.

Back in 1986 Dance played the role of Sardo Numspa in the Eddie Murphy classic action film.  Sardo Numspa is the main antagonist of the film. He is a demon who is the leader of a secret Tibetan cult of devil worshippers.   Sardo seems to have a sophisticated manner as he dresses in a fine leather coat like a wealthy rich man.  But he has somewhat of a speech impediment which is why he mispronounces some names, or just Chandler’s (Eddie Murphy) last name because he can’t stand him.

I’m pretty sure any of you around in the 80s know this character very well.  If you don’t, of course I have a clip:
