Jillian Aversa is an award-winning vocalist, composer, and performer that has completed a wide array of projects throughout the years and has become quite an impressive talent. Her voice has been used in many different venues and has been just as beautiful each and every time. In Zelda: Ocarina of Time, once again lends her voice in tune that is haunting in its beauty and stunning in the use of visuals.
One might need to be a fan of the game to truly understand the visuals and fully appreciate them, but the feeling seems to be one of awakening, or understanding, or something similar that takes place. As I say, unless you are a fan of the game you cannot possibly know if this has anything to do with Zelda or if the clip is solely a creation meant to showcase Jillian’s amazing vocal talents. Regardless it is still a soothing melody to listen to and a pleasing look that allows the mind and spirit to calm as one in an attempt to gain greater understanding.
The Legend of Zelda has been one of Nintendo’s longest-running games and has managed to gather a fan base unlike many others. Even in years that the game’s popularity seemed to dip there were still thousands upon thousands of loyal fans that could recall playing the game on the original NES system that was so popular back in the 1980’s through the 1990’s. The 8-bit system was the wave of the future at that point and many kids would play the gold cartridge Legend of Zelda until the game would cease to function or they were forced to put it down. Back then however this meant having to either leave the game running, which could eventually lead to the system overheating, or turning it off. Turning it off meant that you would have to go through the adventure all over again because in those days saving a game was not an option.
There was something about Zelda that people simply responded to, a quality that is still unheard of in many games today and has thankfully transferred over to its current incarnations. The story lines, the plots, and of course the characters have helped to transform the entire franchise into something that is far beyond what it originally was. Surprisingly one of the most interesting quirks of the story is that the legend of Zelda is more about the quest of the main hero, Link, than it is about the titular princess. Though she is extremely important, she is also downplayed quite a bit in favor of Link as he travels through the world of Hyrule attempting to save Princess Zelda.
Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, is highly dependent on music, which makes Jillian’s contribution very meaningful and even more purposeful as it speaks of an awakening that, in the game, is extremely important to procuring the safety and security of the land of Hyrule.
If you hadn’t known any of this it still would have been an impressive clip.
