Aquaman Movie Gets Its Official Logo and I Like It

Aquaman has recently commenced filming and only days after Jason Momoa takes his first steps at trying to turn the character into another cash cow for DCEU, a new logo for the film has been released.   The logo uses the character’s symbol set against an underwater background.  I happen to like it.  I think it’s simple yet makes its point and of course you’ve gotta have the water going on there.  Nicely done, Marvel.

We’ll get a chance to see the character of Aquaman before the solo film debuts on Dec 18th, 2018.  Momoa first played the part briefly in Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.   He’ll also be playing the part in the November release of Justice League.   As far as the film Aquaman goes, Momoa’s supporting cast includes Nicole Kidman as his mother Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as his father Tom, Willem Dafoe as his advisor Dr. Vulko, and Amber Heard as his love interest Mera.

Together, the team will have to face off against a few villains, including Patrick Wilson’s Orm, Dolph Lundgren’s King Nereus, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta.

P.S. You had me at Dolph Lundgren folks.  That’s really all I needed to see to be sold on this film.  Also, did you know this film is currently being filmed in Australia?  We’ll let you know if any shark incidents occur.  Given that there’s actually scenes where Atlanteans battle using sharks, something has to happen on set.   Not that I’m hoping for tragedy but there’s bound to be some solid stories.   As those surface, we’ll let you know.

What do you think of the logo?
