Animated Family Series “Koala Man” is Coming To Hulu

So, that’s it. The main premise is about a guy that dresses up, kind of, like a koala and wants to snuff out crime. There have been more inane ideas out there to be certain, but this is getting pretty close to the bar it feels like since it’s coming from the same guy that helped to create Rick and Morty, which explains a lot. But out of all the animals that one could emulate when it comes to stopping crime, a koala is perhaps one of the least likely to strike fear into the hearts of criminals. It might make a few of them ‘ooh’ and ‘awww’ before they break into laughter, but perhaps that’s the plan since if they’re laughing too hard they might be easier to subdue. It’s not really tough to see why something like this would be released, even though back in the day it might have boggled my mind that anyone would have taken it seriously, but this is the era for the ridiculous and the wacky since some of the shows that have been released, especially the animated ones, have made it clear that rational thought needs to be suspended in a big way at times. There’s nothing wrong with that, and it’s been seen that some of the most impossible things are being worked on when it comes to bringing out new ideas. But a koala? They’re not exactly offensive creatures by nature and aren’t really known to be overly aggressive most of the time. They might take off after other animals or humans if they’re afraid or pressed into a situation where attacking is preferable to being harmed, but it’s still not something that’s bound to be a great look for fighting crime.

So far there’s not a lot known about the show, but it’s going to be headed to Hulu eventually and it will probably be just as crazy as many other animated shows that have come out in the last decade or so. Just thinking about it at this point is enough to make a person shake their head as they wonder at what’s going to be coming down the pipeline and how various fans will react to it. The idea is that Rick and Morty fans may very well take to it quickly and without any hesitation since it could be every bit as crazy as they’re used to, and it might be that Koala Man will somehow be a little more impressive than some of us are thinking. It’s usually not a good idea to look past anything or think that it might not be that great of an idea, since looking at Rick and Morty is a great example given how many seasons they’ve had thus far and how it’s likely that they’ll continue to stick around for a while yet simply because people happen to like them for some insane reason. But insanity is at least part of the reason why people are still in love with the show, not to mention that many are emotionally invested at this point and aren’t about to simply give up on the show for anything. This is one of the many times when it’s best to say to each their own and keep moving on, since the argument over good taste and sensibility won’t be won with a Rick and Morty fan, no matter how good of an argument a person can make.

The show is going to be given an eight-episode run that will be used to determine if it’s bound to stick around or if it’s just as absurd as it sounds. One word of caution would be not to discount this show simply because it looks that crazy, since that’s a trap that a lot of people are bound to fall into, and it’s one that is extremely old but still effective since too many people are bound to look at the title and the idea and just laugh it off. This is unfortunately how some shows manage to gain popularity among those that count themselves among the oddballs and outcasts of society, since many will take up the call to keep a show that others don’t feel is worthy of the mainstream, and will pour everything they have into it in order to see what might be deemed as edgy, ridiculous, or absurd continue for as long as possible just to spite those that might not like it. One can almost guess that this was how Rick and Morty became so popular since it catered more to the odd and the strange of society, who embraced it readily and did everything in their power to keep it around, while others converted as the show continued to gain followers over the years. Koala Man might do the same.
