She is a qualified and competent professional who attended the University of North Texas where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. She minored in Political Science, which was a smart move because it helped her to have a working knowledge of the topics she often covers.
2. She’s a dog lover
Housden is the proud pet parent of two dogs. When she’s not at work, you can often find her frolicking with her beloved pets at a dog park. You can tell that she’s a good pet mom because she takes time out of her life to take them to a park that is made to accommodate their exercise needs.

Alex made a comment about a co-anchor that had viewers up in arms on social media. She compared him to a gorilla. Jason Hacket is the co-anchor she made the remark about and he happens to be Black. The remark upset many viewers and there were quite a few of them calling for her to be fired for the comment. Alex had said that a gorilla at the Oklahoma City Zoo resembled Hackett, and not everyone shared her sense of humor. She made a public apology on the air and it was a tearful one, the day after the occurrence. Hackett graciously accepted her apology, offering that there was something to be learned from the event.

After the controversial “joke” was made, Alex found out that when it comes to the viewers, there is very much a mixed bag. While there were multiple social media slams and angry messages, there were also those who supported her and suggested that she didn’t mean any harm. Alex Housden went to school with Reagan and the two were high school sweethearts. The couple married after high school but they don’t have any children together. Still, they are the parents of Bentley and Louis, their two dogs, which makes them a family of four.
7. Her husband has just one hand
Housden took to social media to introduce her husband Reagan to her fans and viewers. She also shared that he had an accident with a meat grinder when he was just three years old. The unfortunate incident resulted in the loss of one of his hands, but he gets along just fine with one.

When Alex first started her career in journalism, she didn’t have a full-time position with the newsroom, but she took what was available to get her foot in the door in her chosen career path.
