There are very few if any movie franchises that can say they’ve invaded the mainstream culture as much as Star Wars has. In terms of dedication to a franchise I’ll say that Star Trek has a very committed fan base. However, Star Wars has the bigger global reach and is a franchise that could very well live on forever. But the sheer seamless blend from movies to real life is what is so striking about Star Wars.
Not only do people dress up as their favorite characters, but they incorporate elements of Star Wars films into every day life. I mean how often is your USB Charger an R2D2? Would you ever consider turning your bed into the Millennium Falcon? What about carving a chair to make it look like a stormtrooper? And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
