Away with paradise, it’s time for reality to check-in. For the past few weeks, couples from Love is Blind have been living in a bubble. In the pods, they found emotional connections whose physical aspects they tested during a romantic getaway in Cancun, Mexico. So far, differences have started to emerge, and, with that bubble already out of the way, it’s time to face reality. Everyone has their phones back, and it’s time to go back to day-to-day living. Will the realities of the outside world prove too difficult to handle? Will the strong emotional connections formed in the pods stand the test of time? It’s only three weeks before the wedding day. The morning after Natalie and Shayne’s argument, the emotions are not raging as high. Natalie has come to the realization that she is stubborn, and she’s willing to work on things. In Shayne, she has found a best friend of some sort. Despite the distractions, family, friends, and work, they are keeping a positive attitude and looking forward to getting married. For his wedding, Shayne wants to be in a tux cape, in a way that Natalie can only liken to the cast of Bridgerton. Shake learns that Deepti’s mum had manifested him, which raises the tension of meeting her parents even higher. Deepti loses a bet and is forced to plan for date night.
Danielle’s overthinking is going to be a common topic going forward. She’s worried that she might put herself in a place where a divorce is an option. Nick asks whether there’s doubt on her part and she gives no answer. If the wedding is only three weeks away, she has to figure herself out real quick. Iyanna shows up at Jarrette’s apartment for the first time and she can’t stop herself from looking around. Jarrette still has traces of his ex-girlfriends around, which makes Iyanna uncomfortable. Mallory is a subject that just won’t go away either. She’s worried that perhaps Mallory was Jarrette’s first choice because she’s more stable. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Shaina and Kyle. Shaina loves how Kyle makes her feel, and she’s willing to give it a try. She still believes she’s supposed to be with Shayne, but she’s taking Kyle to meet her parents. Shaina’s brother has some tough questions. Talking to the family brings some clarity. For starters, Shaina’s ring doesn’t fit, and she wears it on her thumb instead. Religion is a subject that will never escape the room where Kyle and Shaina are concerned. Her mother knows that faith is so big an aspect of Shaina’s life, and instantly, she knows the relationship is not going to work.
Unlike Shaina’s parents, who have seen that the possibility of a wedding between Kyle and Shaina is thin, Danielle’s parents are very welcoming of Nick. Danielle’s mom uses her background in psychology to observe that Nick is a kind person. He seems genuine. Nick is not one to go fishing, but for the sake of Danielle’s family, he does and manages to catch himself a meal. Being single at 36 appears to be a red flag for Danielle’s mom, who says people who are single at that age may be commitment-phobic. If anyone is going to sabotage the relationship, however, it will most likely be her own daughter. Nick learns that Danielle’s family is not shy when it comes to talking about sex, unlike his own which is very conservative. Natalie is not nervous at all about showing Shayne her apartment. She seems so put together. Working as a consultant manager seems to be serving her well as far as her beautifully furnished apartment goes. Natalie is so organized, she’s prepared her financials enough to be able to afford a house. Shayne, in many ways, reminds her of her own dad, which makes them a perfect couple. Financially, he’s more of the risk-taking kind. He prefers to just wing it, and doesn’t think a 401(k) is as important as it is to Natalie.
Sal is in love with Mallory. He cannot hide it. He lets her meet his sisters because, without their approval, the marriage is likely to be a shaky one. Sal’s sisters are as eloquent as they are good listeners. They love Mallory’s ring. One question is on their mind, however. Are Mallory and Salvador ready? Given that they have had the first major hit in their relationship, there is a chance that they could be. On Danielle and Nick’s side, the fights don’t seem to end. Danielle is second-guessing Nick’s intentions. She thinks Nick values his friends more than he does her family. The word ‘narcissist’ is thrown around, and Nick doesn’t like it one bit. In his humble opinion, Danielle thinks the world revolves around her. Deepti has never introduced a man to her parents. In her home, that only happens when one intends to get married, so her previous six-year relationship didn’t make the cut. She’s always been against an arranged marriage, yet here she is. The question all family members seem to ask is the same, are they ready? Shake is happy with Deepti. He gets to learn something new about her every day, and the more he does, the more he falls in love. Deepti’s family is so loving. Her dad remembers the exact day he got married to her mother. Not only the date but the time as well. Marrying into the family is not so bad an idea.
With Shaina and Kyle, it was only a matter of time. Shaina finally has the guts to call it a day. “I can’t marry you,” she says. Kyle feels as though he has been led on. Shaina’s feelings for Shayne haven’t gone away either. She was conflicted the whole time, and she feels she’s finally made the right call. Something about marrying Kyle did not sit well with her spirit. Danielle and Nick have come to an agreement that they have different communication styles. If they are going to move forward, they will have to stop making each other unhappy. Once again, it’s time to meet other cast members, some of who got engaged and others who didn’t. All eyes are on Shayne and Shaina, who haven’t seen each other since they said their goodbyes. Natalie has a bone to chew with Shaina, who told her she had a backup boyfriend in case things didn’t work out between Natalie and Shayne. Shayne tries to be cordial with Shaina before he brings the disturbing topic up. Nick tells his pod bestie Shaina that he thinks Natalie is insecure. Shaina, on the other hand, thinks that Shayne and Natalie are not compatible at all. She doesn’t hide the fact that he is her number one. The episode ends with Shaina calling the relationship between Shayne and Natalie fake.Love is Blind
