Time without number, Netflix has taken some steps that most people would deem questionable. But, despite it all, the network seems to get it right more than they don’t. Money Heist is a prime example of one of the things Netflix gets right.
So, naturally, there are loads of people wondering if there’s a sixth season in its future. There’s a whole ‘will they, won’t they’ situation going on, and the tension is only building up. To cut to the chase, there is no sixth season on the horizon. Here’s all the information you need to know.
Season Five is Brand-New
Money Heist is one of those binge-worthy shows that incites a sort of mini panic once a season wraps up. People simply want more, and no one can blame them. While it’s natural to be disappointed that the show may not be renewed, there’s some consolation in the fact that the fifth season just dropped. It only just dropped on December 3, 2021.
Altogether, that means that asking for a follow-up season already is premature. There are still some pretty big highs to come off on and theories to marinate in. For instance, what’s going on with the people in the bank? What’s the whole situation with the professor? The list goes on, and at the end of the day, there are enough cliffhangers to go around. That’s enough to keep the Money Heist high going for a while longer.
There Will Not Be a Season Six
It’s not the best news out there, but unfortunately, a sixth season isn’t on Netflix’s schedule. The popular streaming platform has made the decision not to bring it back for another season. While there are a few theories as to why that’s happening, nothing is definite. However, there’s an unspoken promise out there to answer all the pertinent questions the show has generated.
Good News, There Is A Spinoff
The art of the spinoff is one of the greatest gifts the industry has to offer. So, while Netflix may not be bringing Money Heist back for a sixth season, it’s not the end. Apparently, the TV show will be called Berlin, and it’ll focus solely on the character played by Pedro Alonso. Altogether, there’s not a whole lot of information out there on the plot and cast.
However, the spinoff isn’t going to happen overnight, as the show is set to drop sometime in 2023. Not the best news for diehard fans, but it does allow time to get familiar with the character, Berlin. Hopefully, Netflix will drop a few hints and tidbits along the way. In the meantime, there are still dozens of shows to binge, re-watch and explore while the show’s production is underway.
