Dive into Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer: Week 1 Challenges Unveiled

destiny 2 week 1 challenges

Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer has finally arrived, and with it comes a fresh set of seasonal challenges! After a lengthy delay due to server issues, the game is back on track for most players, which means it’s time to dive into the first week of challenges. Luckily, these challenges don’t seem to be a mere copy-paste of the Season of the Chosen. So, how can you claim those cool rewards, seasonal XP, and other sweet loot? Discover how to complete the first week’s challenges for Season of the Splicer in Destiny 2 right here!

Hello, World

To conquer the Hello, World seasonal challenge in Destiny 2, you must speak to the Splicer Servitor, complete Path of the Splicer I, and defeat powerful Cabal throughout the system. Bonus progress is awarded for defeating combatants within the new Override seasonal activity. After completing the Path of the Splicer I quest, eliminate 150 Cabal, and you’ll be rewarded with Double XP, the new Legendary Sidearm, “Farewell,” and 150 Decrypted Data.

Ethereal Splicer I

Collect Ether by participating in Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, Public Events, and by defeating enemies anywhere in the game. I recommend targeting enemies within the new Override activity to make progress on other challenges and upgrade your Splicer Gauntlet. The Ethereal Splicer I challenge grants you seasonal XP to boost your level in the Season Pass.

Icebound

The Icebound challenge tasks you with completing bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors on Europa. This challenge is similar to last season’s, but on a different planet. While not everyone may enjoy these challenges, they do offer double XP and 150 Bright Dust upon completion.

Close-Range Calibration

The Close-Range Calibration seasonal challenge in Destiny 2 requires you to “calibrate close-range weapons – Sidearms, Submachine Guns, Shotguns, Swords – on Europa. Bonus progress for rapidly defeating targets.” Since the Icebound challenge also takes place on Europa, you can tackle both challenges simultaneously. Just make sure to achieve 200 kills for this challenge (or fewer if you can score some multikills!). Completing this challenge rewards you with XP and 75 Bright Dust.

Sacred Scorcher

With Team Scorched’s return to Crucible, a seasonal challenge has been introduced to celebrate. For this challenge, defeat 50 Guardians in Team Scorched, with bonus progress for charged detonations. The reward for this challenge is double XP and 150 Bright Dust.

Maximum Override

To complete the Maximum Challenge seasonal challenge in Destiny 2, finish five Override missions and deposit Data Spikes as a team within Override missions. Completing this challenge grants you double XP, 150 Decrypted Data, and a piece of lore titled “Achilles Weaves a Cocoon.”

Sidearm Splicer

To complete the Sidearm Splicer challenge, bring a Sidearm into the new Override mission and achieve 200 Sidearm kills. Precision kills count for double progress, so it shouldn’t take too long. Completing this challenge provides you with seasonal XP.

Challenger’s Aspiration

To complete the Challenger’s Aspiration challenge, finish three weekly playlist challenges. This involves completing strikes with a subclass matching the strike element and participating in Gambit and Crucible matches. After completing this seasonal challenge in Destiny 2, you’ll be awarded XP and 75 Bright Dust.

Drifter’s Chosen

For the Drifter’s Chosen challenge, earn points by banking Motes, defeating Blockers, and eliminating Invaders within the Gambit game mode in Destiny 2. You’ll need 250 total points for this challenge, with one point for each Mote banked, 10-30 points for each Blocker defeated (based on damage and Blocker type), and 30 points for each Invader eliminated. Completing the Drifter’s Chosen challenge rewards you with double XP and 150 Bright Dust.

Vex Deletion Protocol

The final seasonal challenge for week one of Season of the Splicer in Destiny 2 requires you to defeat five Vex bosses in strikes. The reward for completion is double XP and 150 Bright Dust.

Stay tuned for next week’s installment of seasonal challenges in Destiny 2!
