It’s always great to promote new and up and coming artists whenever they start gaining notice as it enriches the entire field to which they’re trying to belong or might already be established in. Let’s face facts, it’s hard to get noticed these days thanks to a wide assortment of faces and names in the arts and whenever notice does come your way it’s something to latch onto and hold for dear life since it can come and go like a passing breeze. Sophie Lloyd though is someone you might want to check out since not only is she a talented composer but she’s an accomplished musician as well and graduated BIMM in London back in 2018. She’s been something of a wonder to behold since she was 16 and even with the level of talent she has it’s been seen that she’s been improving as she continues forward, bringing her own flair and style to the game as she started working on her first EP a while back and has her own YouTube channel that allows her to showcase her talent and features a great number of covers that she’s created for several very popular tracks.
On top of creating her own music and doing some great covers she’s also played with several well-established musicians that have agreed without any hesitation that she’s one of the best around and that her talent is simply amazing. That’s got to be quite the ego boost and a sign that she’s doing something right. As she’s stated her interest with rock began when she was still very young and she’s traced her own interest back to classic metal which is kind of obvious given how she plays and how she makes the selections she does at times. She’s also taken inspiration from punk bands as well and plays with a great many genres as can be heard in her videos. The versatility that Sophie shows in her playing is simply stunning since some musicians will pull from a wide array of music in order to get that one unique sound that defines them, but Sophie has a much wider range than most it would seem since she seems to dance across the genres as she pleases, picking and choosing which content to use as she continually belts out one impressive tune after another. Those that don’t fully understand music or how one even learns how to play an instrument likely listen and pick and choose what they like based on how it makes them feel. This is all well and good since it allows a lot of people to enjoy a very wide range of music without worrying too much about why. Those with a more discerning ear however want to know more about their favorite artists and where they drew their inspiration and how they came to form their own sound. In fact those that are this into said artists are usually those that can hear the subtle yet still noticeable differences between different sounds that help to differentiate one artist from another. Sophie is by far and large the real article in that she’s not just a pop star seeming to be more than she actually is. The fact that she hasn’t gone much beyond YouTube despite being able to perform with so many noted musicians at this point is and isn’t hard to figure out since like I said to begin with it’s hard to get noticed and to really push forward in an industry where maybe 100 out of 1,000 people might get noticed, and only a fraction of that 100 might actually get to enjoy a long and successful career. Sophie is definitely worth mentioning and has a very big and very loyal fan base at this time and it’s only bound to get bigger if people keep finding their way to her channel to find out just how great she really is on the guitar. Thanks to her musical education and her natural talent she’s bound to become a well-known name within the next several years and it’s easy to think that she’s already well-known to her fans and any they might talk to about her. Fame is a kind of elusive thing in a way since it can be attained and held onto, but at the beginning it seems like a slippery, uncertain thing that might brush against someone for a moment only to seemingly disappear in the next.
Sophie isn’t going away thankfully and is pushing her career as much as she can, so it’s enough to tell people to simply look for her and subscribe to her channel in support of another musician that is on her way up and needs all the support she can get. It’s a great feeling to support someone that’s trying to further the arts, as it reminds us that what we’re doing is still important.
