The Five Best Matt Bomer Movies of His Career

The thing about Matt Bomer is that just by looking at him you think he’s in great shape, has that classic, handsome look that’s sleek, just dark enough to be mysterious, and he’s bound to become a big star. Well to be honest all that is pretty much true but at the same time he’s had a lot more success on TV than in the movies since he’s been kind of a bit-player when it comes to the big screen. He’s had his moments when things have gone his way and he’s been able to gain a lot of exposure but at the same time it’s hardly ever been as a lead since he’s been a supporting character at best. But there’s still no denying that he has an impact on just about every movie he’s been in since he’s the type of person you tend to notice when the camera finally pans over to him and reveals that he is in the movie.

Here are the best five movies of his career.

5. Magic Mike

This is more or less a drama that could be turned into a fantasy held by a lot of women since the guys are all big, cut beefcakes that have their own dreams of what they want to do with their lives while the women that ogle them are simply mesmerized by their well-defined muscles and everything they can’t see as well. You might think that this would be one of the movies that stands no chance of ever being remade in the PC era but it might be surprising since I’d bet heavily on a lot of people saying that it would be just fine since dancing is considered an art form and the men in this movie were performing ‘art’ that a lot of women can get behind.

4. Winter’s Tale

This is one of those movies in which he has a very small role but it’s a pivotal one since when Peter’s mother and father can’t enter the US but their son can’t enter without them the two then find a way to give him a better life. Unfortunately being raised to be a thief by a demon isn’t something that’s bound to get a person known, but as he grows Peter becomes a better person and eventually escapes the employ of the demon. This movie is one of those that you really need to pay attention to lest you find that you’ve lost your course and need to start over again, but it does have a touching tale to tell.

3. In Time

A world where time is literally the currency as well as the only means of survival is a place that you might think is kind of terrifying since no matter what you do there’s just never enough of it, kind of like in our world. Wasting time isn’t an option in this movie since the seconds are more precious than anything given that they’re the reason a person is still breathing. That’s why when Bomer bequeaths the kind of fortune that could keep a person alive and wealthy for a long time to come it becomes something of a problem since the lower class in this movie aren’t meant to have that kind of time just given to them.

2. The Magnificent Seven

It’d be nice if there were people out there that could band together for a chance at payment as well as the altruistic need to help others, but in this movie at least there’s one band of misfits that are willing to put their lives on the line for a town that’s firmly in the grip of a powerful and notoriously violent man that needs to be dealt with. A lot of people didn’t care for this remake since to fans it would seem that the original is always going to be better. That’s easy to understand but the movie was still likable in a lot of areas thanks to the cast and the manner in which they came together for the duration of the movie.

1. The Nice Guys

It’s likely that some people actually forgot about this movie even though it does have its own sense of charm and comedy that kind of fun and isn’t as easy to dismiss as some might think. That being said Matt took a much more noticeable part in this one and had a chance to square off with the main stars of the movie in a type of final showdown, but in the end it was still Crowe and Gosling that got the acclaim. That’s kind of what a lot of folks have come to expect when Bomer is in the movies since unless it’s a movie that hasn’t really been noticed he’s been a supporting or bit character a lot of the time.

One of these days it’d be nice to see him as a lead.
