Brian Geraghty is an American actor who is best known for his role in ‘The Hurt Locker.” More recently, he was a regular member of the cast of “Chicago PD,” but left the show after just a couple of seasons. Geraghty has accumulated a huge fan base who are interested in learning all about him, including his personal life and what he’s doing since he left the award-winning series. 1. He’s a native of New Jersey
Garaghty was born in Toms River, New Jersey. His birthday is May 13, 1975, making him 44 years old. He comes from a family of Irish descent. He attended the local schools in Toms River where he grew up, and he graduated from Toms River High School East in 1993.
2. He studied acting near home
Brian was living in the right place for pursuing a career in acting. New Jersey is in close proximity to New York City. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in courses at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater inNew York City. There he studied acting in preparation for a professional career in the industry. After completing his studies, he relocated to Los Angeles, California for better job opportunities.
3. He has a long list of acting credits
Geraghty’s first role was a small part, but it just happened to be in one of the more successful crime drama series. He landed a part in “The Sopranos.” From this point on, he was offered more although smaller parts, nonetheless, acting roles. He landed parts in several films including “Jarhead,” “Bobby,” “The Guardian,” “We Are Marshall,” and “The Hurt Locker.” He also got a part on “Law & Order: SVU,” followed by Agent Knox on “Boardwalk Empire.” followed by “Chicago P.D.” as Sean Roman. He has a decent portfolio of acting credits.
4. He was a surf instructor
Prior to becoming famous as an actor, Brian Geraghty spent a lot of time surfing. He enjoyed his work as a surf instructor, helping others learn how to master the sport. He still surfs whenever he has free time currently but is no longer in the teaching aspect.
5. He dated Laura Ramsey
Brian was in a romantic relationship with actress Laura Ramsey for a period of time. The two met in 2009 and began a year-long romance, which made headlines at the time. He and the “Lord of Dogtown” actress kept it going to a year, but they both realized that the relationship wasn’t going to work out, so without fanfare or drama, they simply went their separate ways.
6. Brian dated a co-star
Geraghty was only single for a year before he found another romantic interest. He and Krysten Ritter, who is a musician, former model and actress were involved in a serious relationship back in 2012. They starred in a romantic comedy called “Audrey Hepburn’s Neck.” This relationship didn’t work out either as their views on marriage were not the same. Krysten had a bit of fear about entering into a marriage, and although she’s not opposed to it, she’s not sure if she is the marrying kind. The couple called it quits in 2013.
7. Geraghty has a new love in his life
Brian Geraghty doesn’t stay single for long, but it’s understandable, as he’s considered to be a hot commodity on the single’s market. Three years after breaking up with Krysten Ritter, he met Spanish model Amber Kekich. The two didn’t make any formal announcement when they started seeing one another in 2016, but their Instagram posts said it all. They uploaded some steamy pictures that let the world know that they were more than just friends. The couple has not tied the not though.
8. Brian Geraghty is a private guy
Brian Geraghty like any other actor enjoys receiving attention for a job well-done, but he’s not the kind of person who is attention-seeking. He likes to maintain his privacy, especially when it comes to his family. This is why there isn’t a lot of information out there about his family. What we do know is that his father’s name is Dennis Geraghty, but he hasn’t shared much information about his family life, or what it was like growing up in Toms River, New Jersey.
9. He returned home to prepare for a television role
When actor Brian Geraghty was cast in the role of a police officer, he wanted to adequately prepare for the part in “Chicago PD.” He returned home to Toms River where he visited a place called Tina’s House. This was Ocean County’s SVU which was created to help children who were victims of sexual abuse, and it was made for their safety while investigations were ongoing. The County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato even gave him a tour of the facility.
10. He’s made millions in acting
Brian Geraghty has an impressive list of film and television series roles. Although many of these were short, he was engaged in several recurring roles which helped him to gain popularity and a bigger paycheck. We recently learned that he’s done very well throughout his career in the acting industry. His estimated net worth, as of 2019 is around $16 million. He’s done well so far, but his career is a long way from being over. We imagine that in a few years his financial statements will reflect a higher net worth than it is currently, but for now, he’s enjoying a place in the multi-millionaire’s club.
