Who better to play Martha Stewart than the woman herself? With her dry wit and ability to poke fun at herself, Stewart has already proven she can play herself in movies and television. She’s appeared on “Law and Order: SVU” and in the film “Bad Moms”. Plus, as a control freak, she’d likely prefer to portray herself the way she wants to be seen.
2. Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow playing Martha Stewart would be poetic justice, given their ongoing feud since 2013. Paltrow started the lifestyle website Goop, which Stewart has criticized, and the two have traded jabs ever since. Paltrow has even hired Stewart’s ex-CEO of Martha Stewart Living, Lisa Gersh, to direct Goop. It would be interesting to see Paltrow’s take on the role.

Cybill Shepherd has already played Martha Stewart twice in television movie parodies, portraying her as a campy, control freak. Shepherd is familiar with Stewart’s life story and could bring her experience to a more serious portrayal of the domestic diva.
