Days of Our Lives fans are so excited that someone we all know and love is coming back to the show after a long absence. Not that we haven’t had the opportunity to see his face here and there once or twice over the course of his absence in flashbacks and memories, but we do miss him so much. We miss Andre DiMera, and we cannot express to you how much excitement we feel at the thought of him returning. He’s coming back. He’s going to be better than ever, and we cannot wait to see what he has to offer the rest of the world. We are not going to be disappointed in him at all, but we do know that he’s going to bring the heat when he comes back. Here are a few things you didn’t know about the actor who plays Andre DiMera, who goes by the name of Thaao Penghlis.
He’s Australian
This is a man who has never made us wonder if he’s from America, and that’s amazing considering he is not from America. He plays an American well on television, but he is actually from the beautiful country of Australia. Believe it or not, we would have guessed he was from Greece based on his name, but that doesn’t appear to be a situation that is true. He was born and raised in New South Wales, but he is also from Greek heritage. That does explain his looks, his name, and so much more about him that is so Greek. His parents are both Greek, so that makes it work for us.
He’s From General Hospital
Maybe you remember, maybe you don’t. It depends on your fandom and your age. He was first on the show when he was much younger and had more hair. It was the early 1980s, after all. Everyone had a lot more hair. That’s just how they were back then. He was, if you are surprised, a Cassadine. It’s a role he took into consideration, and it’s one that he loved playing. He was Victor Cassadine, a mean man. He plays a good bad guy, though. We like it a lot.
He’s Played Two DiMeras
This is the one that surprises the most people. He was cast on Days of Our Lives many years ago to play the role of Tony, but then he was cast to play the role of Andre. It’s confusing unless you were there to see it happen, but he was both and he was good at each one. He also left the show a while ago to d a few things when he was killed off. He’s always dying, but he’s always coming back at the same time. We think that they just love him and what he’s been able to do for the show for so many years. He’s a man who is quite good at what he does, after all, and that makes him indispensable. He’s been around the block as two men from the same family. One is nice and likable. One is not. That’s impressive, because not too many people can do both.
He’s Not Married
The thing about this man is that his personal life is very personal. We cannot find much about it on the internet, and that’s a real feat. Not many people can keep their personal life so private in this day and age, and we like that about them. They have so much to offer, and it’s so good for us to see that they can still keep things to themselves if they want. However, as a result, we have no idea if he is involved with anyone. We cannot even tell you if he has any kids, and we certainly don’t see him as the marrying time since he has no marriages on record that we can find. That’s interesting to us, but we bet his coworkers know more about him than we do. They seem to like him. They seem to like working with him. They seem to be very happy about the fact that he is coming back, and we are all excited to see what happened to him and what he’s bringing.
