Craig Elvy from ScreenRant has compiled the entire list of tracks that are featured on the John Wick 3 soundtrack and they’re nothing short of awesome even when they’re not accompanying the movie. If you don’t like spoilers and haven’t seen the movie yet you might want to look away since there’s no point in writing any further if I’m not going to give up a few details of what happens. Namely, John Wick shows just why he’s considered to be the best in the business and why the boogeyman wouldn’t stand a chance in hell if John was set and determined to take him out. The music simply lends another level of intensity to this movie that it might not have needed but certainly benefited from since it increased the level of expectation and anticipation to heights that the first two movies seemed to have elevated beyond what was possible.
Here are just a few of the best songs from the soundtrack.
5. Tick Tock Mr. Wick-OST
The moment he leaves Winston’s sight John is working against the clock as he’s given just one hour to put some distance between himself and those that want him dead. Of course in a city where anyone and everyone could be out to get him there aren’t a lot of safe havens to be had. But as you might expect John is resourceful and has plenty of spots he happens to know about that he can go to if he ever needs them. Plus, we get to learn more about his life as he finds various channels he can utilize despite being ex-communicado, something that’s pretty much the same as a death sentence but framed with a much more pretentious sounding word.
4. Dance of the Two Wolves-Julia Aks
There’s simply too much in this movie to be described in the length of one article since John ends up taking on just about anyone and everyone that wants to make a run at him from the start of the movie to the finish. And by the time it’s all said and done the body count has only increased and the price on John’s head is still in place as he reminds everyone just why speaking his name should instill awe and perhaps even fear in those that know him. Each and every person that comes against him seems to forget that while he is human, he’s the furthest thing from an easy mark when it comes to actually cashing in on the contract.
3. Zero vs. Wick-OST
Zero is a villain that’s highly skilled but at the same time is a bit full of himself since he knows how good he is but doesn’t seem to know how to cap the ego that comes with this type of skill at times. He’s deadly, he’s quiet, and against anyone that’s not John Wick he’s actually quite good. But despite getting the jump on John a time or two he still doesn’t seem to fully appreciate just how deadly John really is until their final fight when they come together and Zero suddenly has to remember just who he’s fighting and why John’s legend was allowed to grow so big throughout the years.
2. Bullet Holes-Bush
The way this movie developed was kind of fun since one would think that John has absolutely no chance in hell of escaping the city and would still be taken out upon finding his way back. But this is John Wick, a force of nature and a one-man wrecking crew that knows how to wade through bodies when necessary and understand the frailty of the human body in a way that only a trained killer possibly could. That’s what makes him the kind of demon you betray only if you have a force that you’re confident can pin him down and take him out, not play with him and give the man a chance to come back and tear you to pieces.
1. Really Pissed Off-OST
Throughout the movie you can see that John gets a little hot under the collar at times and there’s good reason for this, but by the end, when Winston decides to show that his loyalty is to the High Table so that he can keep his hotel, John becomes the fall guy as he’s shot and flung off of a rooftop to land with bone-jarring force upon the street. When brought before the King of the Bowery however he’s definitely good and pissed off and ready to remind those that betrayed him of his reputation for destroying those that cross him. In other words, there’s going to be a John Wick 4, and even if it doesn’t have a happy ending, it will be a close to a story that’s been nothing short of epic. As Hoai-Tran Bui of Slash Film has already stated, John Wick is on the hunt.
There were a few big spoilers, but don’t let that distract you from going to see the movie.
