Ruby Rose is one of the many people that have been noticing and been noticed because of the huge transgender shift that’s been going on in the world lately, but also because she’s been positioning herself to take on roles in movies that have managed to gain a great deal of attention. If you can recall she was in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, and The Meg, both of which featured her rather prominently throughout. She was also a feature on Orange Is The New Black for a while as well so it’s fair to say that her stock has been going up as of late and she’s been enjoying a good run as she continues to shine on the big and small screens. There is something about her that’s kind of infectious in a good way since she’s fun to watch and obviously skilled enough to perform a wide array of roles, as was evidenced when she showed up in John Wick 2.

10. She’s gained fame for more than just acting.
While she’s great on screen Ruby has also been a DJ, a model, an amateur boxer, a recording artist, and a TV presenter. So if you think she’s JUST an actor you might need to look at her resume a little closer and discover that she’s been around.
9. Ruby is a big comic book fan.
There’s just something about comic books that call to people of all ages. Those that deny they have any interest in them at all are often into other things that have little to do with the fantasy, but those that retain the wonder and enjoyment that comes from the various stories tend to never really lose it.
8. For two years she had no acting jobs until she was contacted for Orange Is The New Black.
She was busy no doubt hustling one job or another to make ends meet, but for about two years she wasn’t seen all that much when it came to the big or small screen. When she was brought back though a lot of people were really excited.
7. On the set of The Meg she almost drowned.
One has to wonder how this happened but you can almost get an idea of how such a thing would occur since there were a number of water-based stunts on the set that could have been extremely dangerous. What happened was that during a scene in which she had to act as though she was swimming back to the boat her shoes filled up with water and the extra clothing she was wearing began to drag her down.
6. She has upwards of 65 tattoos.
It’s said by a lot of people with tattoos that once you get a couple you find it hard to stop since the sensation and the desire to collect more just keeps growing as people go back again and again. Obviously Ruby liked the idea of visiting her tattoo artist on a regular basis.
5. Ruby has made it known that she’s a vegan.
There are a lot of issues between vegans and meat-eaters these days but most of them seem to come from the idea that farm-bred animals are being tortured and kept in confined spaces that make their lives miserable, thereby adding to animal cruelty that is unnecessary.
4. She’s the first person ever to play Batwoman in a live version.
This is a big moment in the DC universe since no one has really stepped up to the plate to play Batwoman, ever, before now. There have been a couple of Batgirl’s but never Batwoman, so this could be something special.
3. She was convinced that she was a guy as a kid.
Ruby has almost always been seen with short hair and in what amounts to being boys’ clothing. Her comfort level with this is just perfect and she doesn’t really care what people think since she wears what makes her feel good and acceptance is the other person’s problem.
2. Ruby is a big believer in therapy.
Depending on what therapy is needed for it can be a humongous boon for those that accept it and can help them to balance out their lives as needed. In the world as it is now therapy is definitely something that many people seem to need and too many don’t take advantage of when it’s available.
1. A lot of the time she prefers to be as androgynous as possible.
She’s admitted that she’ll glam it up occasionally when she has a celebration or red carpet even to go to, but otherwise she likes to dress in what makes her comfortable and in the style that she prefers.
You could say she’s a unique person and you wouldn’t be lying since she lives by her own set of social rules and doesn’t seem to sweat what people think about her.
