Famous Faces You Forgot Were on General Hospital

General Hospital fans are not all that surprised that things are often forgotten around here, but there are times when you just realize something happened that you weren’t sure was factual. For one, there are stars who were on this show at some point in their careers that you totally forgot about. Did you know, for example, that some of the most famous people in the acting industry have been part of the Port Charles cast at some point or another? And some of them — big time movie stars at that — were not just on the show; they were main characters on the show who did big things. But you forgot all about that, didn’t you? Here are some of the famous faces people often forget all about.

Amber Tamblyn

She is a huge star thanks to her roles on hit primetime shows such as “Two and A Half Men,” and the movie “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” series. She’s been one of the most recognizable faces in the world, and she is great friends with A-listers like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. She’s also a director now, and she’s been making waves in Hollywood for many years. However, she’s been an integral part of the Port Charles community for many years. She was only 12 when she first began her role on the show as the young Emily Quartermaine. She was part of the show for a staggering six years. It seems that people forget she was there because she was so young, and she’d yet to make a name for herself in Hollywood.

Jonathan Jackson

Talk about a big star. He is one of the most famous primetime actors around, and has been for years. He’s part of the cast of Nashville, and he’s one of the greatest there is. He got his start in 1993 playing the role of Lucky Spencer, and that basically made him a household name as far as that goes. He’s been one of the biggest parts of this show for many years, and he even won five Emmy’s for his role as Lucky. He spent many years on the show, too, and that helped him make a name for himself. Many young women loved him and that helped. The fact that he played a bad boy on the primetime hit Nashville also helped his career. People love him, and that makes him a very marketable actor. That’s good for his role on television, and it’s good for the people who want to hire him to work for him. Now that he is a household name, he gets more money, more roles, and more fame from what he does. That’s not uncommon when you take your job elsewhere, but he’s managed to make it happen for himself from his start on the daytime television scene.

James Franco

There was a time when he was a huge part of the show, and that’s not something many people remember. He was already a famous movie star who had a big name and a big career when he came out here. He was not someone who was unknown and just getting started, which is what a lot of the people who come onto the show do. He’s been in major movies, making movies and music, and a name for himself for more than a decade when he made the decision to come to Port Charles and take the role of Franco.

His character took his real last name, Franco, and made appearances for more than three years on the show. From 2009 to 2012, he would show up anytime he wanted, and he would make a mess of Jason Morgan’s life. He was obsessed with him for many reasons, and he would show up any chance he had to try and make a mess of Jason’s life when he was given the chance. He’s not part of the show any longer, but the actual Franco is now part of the show. It was an interesting storyline how that all worked out, but we know that things sometimes turn out like that for many different reasons. He just happened to already be a famous face.
