Days of Our Lives fans know that there is more to life than daytime television — but really, is there? — and that more to life is the Hallmark Christmas movie lineup. We know, we know. It’s barely the beginning of November right now, but we all know that there has been nothing short of a total situation when it comes to what is going on with Christmas. The trees have been up in everyone’s favorite low-cost store since the end of August, and that’s one thing. But for now, we all want to just get this party started by figuring out how to cancel all our plans so we can just sit back and relax with the entire situation that is Christmas. We want to know when our favorite soap star will be on television for us to watch on primetime, too.
Mingle All the Way
We know that there is one person we all love and miss all the time when she’s not on our daytime screens, and that is Jen Lilley. You know her as Theresa on Days of Our Lives, but you are also going to know her as someone else when she shows up on your favorite Christmas movie channel in a movie called “Mingle All the Way,” this season. She’s going to come on to television in the primetime hours as a woman called Molly. She will be your quintessential Christmas movie character. She’s too busy for love being a total professional woman with a big career and everything going for herself.
Everything but love, that is. She’s too busy making money and making a career to find herself a man with whom to spend her life. She’s unlucky in love. She’s too busy. She’s too independent. She’s too everything, but she’s not in love. Of course, she’s got to find herself a date to some of the events she has to attend this season. It would not do well for her boss and coworkers and clients to think she has no life and no family.
In comes a man by the name of Jeff. She needs to have a date, and she uses an app that will find her one. They are paired up together to take one another to their various Christmas parties and events so that they don’t have to show up solo and be all alone on the holidays, and they will be paired together. They will, of course, want nothing to do with one another outside of their various date nights that are purely for show, but their pretend romance will, you know it, spark.
They will quickly find out that while they’ve used the app and had two bad experiences each with it, they were desperate to find a platonic situation to work through the holidays with. They will make it clear they have nothing in common, nothing but respect for one another’s jobs, and nothing to look for in a future together. It’s not what either of them wants, and they will both make it clear to the other they want nothing more than what they are giving to one another in this moment. But, we know that won’t last too long. Something will happen. Something will make it obvious than they are falling for one another. They will fight it.
Their friends will make it their mission in life to make sure they know that they have to be together, but they will deny it all the way to the end of the movie when they inevitably figure out they want more than they are saying they want. There will be a dramatic argument that ends in tears and misery, some sad music, and a few other things that make us all feel so sad for them. But, in the end, they will probably end up living happily ever after with one another. That’s all we need in a Hallmark movie, too.
Mingle All the Way, starring Days of Our Lives’ very own Jen Lilley (Theresa) will premiere on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Just in time for everyone to be home for Thanksgiving week with nothing to do but stay up late watching movies, drinking hot chocolate, and thinking of food.
