There are stars that come on the scene and seem poised and ready to make a breakout career and then flop horribly, and then there are those that come out and at least stick around while trying to make something of themselves. Nikki DeLoach is among the latter as she started out with a lot of promise but her initial career didn’t really go much of anywhere. Once she turned to acting however her fortunes began to change and as the years have passed she’s managed to stick around and become something of a celebrity that’s seen occasionally on various shows and in TV films as well as the big screen. Some folks might have to be reminded of who she is but the great thing is that she’s not hard to find and there’s a good deal of information on her, enough to realize that she is a talented woman and belongs where she’s at.
Here are a few things you might not have known about her.
10. She was a member of a girl group.
The band wasn’t that long-lived since their reception wasn’t all that great. They used to open for Britney Spears and NSYNC, but after a while they had to call it quits. By 2003 they’d broken up and Nikki had decided to go on to an acting career.
9. She plays the guitar.
It seems like those in show business have a wide variety of talents doesn’t it? It’s not so much that they have the money and the ability to do anything and everything they want however, some folks develop other talents in case they happen to need them later on down the line.
8. She has both an English and a Psychology degree.
One thing that can’t ever be disputed is the fact that knowledge in life is key. No matter how rich or famous a person gets being able to impart a little knowledge to the next generation is vital, and if you haven’t got it then chances are you missed your opportunity. Nikki certainly didn’t.
7. She and her girl group lived with Justin Timberlake and his mother while they were training.
His mother was their manager and in order to keep the band closer together in order to bond it was decided that they would bunk together for a while so that they could learn to act and think as a group.
6. She was on the All New Mickey Mouse Club.
Nikki was there at the same time as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Gosling, so it wasn’t too hard to think that she would make a push for the big time when the others did. After all they knew each other fairly well so it was likely that they pushed one another to new heights.
5. She grew up on a farm.
One thing a lot of folks don’t seem to realize is that life on a farm is usually something that younger people want to get away from or fully embrace during their lives, there’s not a whole lot of middle ground at times since life on a farm means long, hard days more often than not.
4. She was in a sequel to The Net.
Anyone remember The Net with Sandra Bullock? Recall how low-key it was before 2006 and then think about how this movie was supposed to be a big upgrade. Unfortunately for DeLoach this movie was lambasted by critics. It sounds like a decent idea for a sequel but the idea with sequels is that they usually have at least something to do with the original story, while this one was a completely different take on the idea and not a great one at that.
3. She’s had a lot of guest star roles.
Nikki has shown up on a lot of different shows throughout her career and has kind of made it a habit to jump in for an episode and then jump back out, which is what a lot of actors do. So far it’s kept her on track when it comes to TV appearances.
2. She’s been working on a Sociology degree at UCLA.
Nikki is definitely all about her education and when it comes to having a Sociology, English, and Psychology degree one might think she would be more inclined to start playing roles that would use these disciplines or possibly try to get into her own classroom and start teaching. It couldn’t hurt as a backup profession.
1. She got her start back in the 80s.
You can’t really say that she hasn’t done a lot since she’s been around for a while and her resume is fairly solid. But one thing about Nikki DeLoach is that she didn’t manage to bank on her career in the 80s or the 90s, and at this point is someone that people have to look up when she appears on TV. She’s a star without question, but one that seems as though she might at times be looking to other horizons as well.
Seriously, she is an educated woman that is bound by nothing.
